    This year appraisal is provided on the basis of tenure and not on performance

    I have joined a construction company recently from past 6 months. As per my knowledge this company provides increment on the basis of performance of the company. But this time company has decided to provide the appraisal on the basis of tenure of work. So as per tenure I will get some 15-20% increment, but as per performance I will get 25-30% increment. I am not happy with the increment if they provided on tenure. Should I talk to my boss about this?

    Yes, you should talk to your boss and discuss the matter and new policies and terms and conditions.If you were told about the 25-30% increment based on your performance and you are eligible there as per your performance, they should consider you for 25-30% increment.

    Dear Friend!

    Of course! You should discus with your Company'y HR for new terms and conditions and new policies. Through, I am not from HR department, but I feel getting even 15-20 % of increment within 6 months of joining is good instead of thinking much on this issue keep on good work which will not only give you promotion in your position but a big jump in your salary irrespective of %.

    Friend,
    I advice you to first read the terms and condition of your company, If it says that your appraisal would be based on your tenure of working then its okay but its says the opposite then its better to talk to your manager regarding this and tell him or her that you have promised me that if i will give my 100% you will appraise me well but it is not happening.

    In some companies there are few persons who gets an extra reward for working so long with the company and that is called as retention reward plan, May be your appraisal is same for all nut due to this retention they got more then you so check this also.
