Will my salary be deducted if I interpret wrong sales forecasts?

Being a general manager I have to send many reports to headquarters in which sales forecast report is an important one. By chance it has been my luck that till date I have made right forecasts but will my pay be affected if I sometime predict wrong?

No, if your's forecasts of sales gets wrong it does not have effect on your salary. Everyone knows future is uncertain and unwanted changes in circumstances would lead to changes in the sales forecasts. At the time of making sales forecasts if you have enough proof and reasons to be believed that it's true. If your's sales forecasts get maximum difference in comparision in actual sales then you may be asked to change the method of sales forecasting. If you have forecasted wrong sales intentionaly then the action may be taken against you.

    Hello,

No, it will not result decreasing your salary initially. Sales forecasting is a
very difficult and challenging role and not many people can predict sales
forecast correctly as it needs specila skills and experience. You need to enhance
your technical and other skills to get used to such specialized role.

But if you continues to perform like that then there is every possibilty of deduction
    of your salary.

    Bye,

forecast is different from expected results when your forecast have been good and they have delivered to your expectations then its very good that you have better understanding of market and company has also witnessed that you have good talent of reading the market conditions and your planning is best.. when you have given best predictions till date... but sometimes its unpredictable about your planning so don't worry your salary will not be deduced any more if sometimes your results go wrong and company also knows that... all the best

    Dear Aspirant,

Congratulations for being a general manager of a company. You are a intelligent & lucky person that your forecasts related to product sales have been so far correct.Though assumption of product sales are made on the basis of some fact & figure, there are chances of being changed in it.There may be variation from actual sales & assumption of 5 to 10%,because the people purchase the product on their purchasing capacity. But man is always moving from one place to other. Also situations with human beings change very frequently.

So question of deduction in pay in case your fore casts for sales of the product fail does not arise. So need not worry & be happy.

    Thanks & good luck.

Yes sir definitely your salary will be effected if you provide any type of wrong information to the higher authorities means if you are doing everything well then why do you worry about your work and it shows that you have lack of confidence in your work and you know very well that mistake never forgives in private companies and you are the general manager that means you are managing at least 50% part of your company in that area and that is a big achievement in yourself and if you will do mistake that means you are irresponsible about your work and this will not be forgiven by the company so you should be careful in your work and if possible then try to perform well and better than everyone do in the company and be confident about your work and if you will be confident then you can really do well and will not face any type of problem in your work

If you think about the report that anytime by chance it get late or mentioned anything wrong or any mistake in the report then I would like to say that if you will make your image better in the company and will provide good work then company will trust you and if you once do any normal mistake then you will be forgiven but if any other one do the same then he/she will not be forgiven

    All the best
