    Will I get annual bonus in probation period?

    I am working in Northern railway. I have joined before three months. My probation period is of two years. As all central government employees are eligible to get annual bonus on Diwali, am I eligible to get the bonus. If yes, then on what basis it will be calculated.

    Dear friend,
    You will get the regular salary during your probation period but to know about the annual bonus and its calculation you have to contact your head official or head of northern railway because annual bonus is calculated differently in different fields.

    To check the Eligibilty for the bonus, you need to check the appointment letter given to you by Indian railways.
    The appointment letter will contain the details about the salary, bonus and incentives that you would be eligibile during your 2 year Probation period.

    Please rebember all the government agencies have different rules in terms of payment and wages.
    Also i would suggest that you should get in touch with the Regional HR manager of the Indian Railways, if you are not able to find the details on the appointment letter.

    There is no rule that a probation employee is not entitled to bonus. But in Divali season the amount given to an employee is not know as bonus. That is know as festival allowance. It is given to the employees for celebrating the concern festivals. According to me an employee who is in probation is entitled to festival allowance. There is no hard and fast rule what should be the allowance. It is decided by the government and the amount will be same to all the employees. The amount is fixed by the government and it is communicated through a notification.

    For getting the exact amount you have to get the government notification regarding the same.
