    What should we do with the employee whose performance suddenly decreases after the appraisal and increment?

    This employee has joined to our company just 9 months. He has joined as software engineer. His performance was very good for the first 6 months. And based on that we had given him appraisal and increment, but after that his performance has gone down completely. What may be reason for such drastic change? What should we do with the employee whose performance has gone down suddenly after increment and appraisal?

    Dear friend,
    Anyway a personal meeting with the person helps in many cases, you should talk with him personally try to dig in deep on his nature you will surely find a solution. His attitude should not be controlled by force since it will hamper his performance. Appreciate his skills and performance and make him feel important and responsible this way you can make him trust you. When you gain his trust tell him as a friend that he should control himself and be nice with his co-workers, point out his weakness and let him realize how he would react if someone else does the same to him. But most importantly make him feel a sense of responsibility for the success of the company and how beneficial it will be for him in the future. This will make him a better human.

    Hi aspirant

    Rather than taking some kind of action against such an employee, you should first try to find out the reason for the drastic change in his performance. It maybe that he is having some personal problem and thus is not able to concentrate on his work thus leading to decrease in his performance. As you said that he got an appraisal initially for his goodwork, so its certain he has the calibre but due to some reason he is not being able to concentrate and give his best to his work.

    What you can do is call him to your office and just tell him that recently you have noticed a decline in his performance . Earlier he used to be so hardworking but now his performance is not upto the mark. You just wanted to know the reason. Is he having some trouble in which you can help him. He should try to improve his performance which will be good for him and the company. I am sure he will take your words seriously and try to improve his performance.

    hello sirAn excitement can be harmful for any employee if he/she does not think the real result of it.over confidence is a curse for employment and has negative effect on performance.you should appreciate his skills and performance and make him feel important and responsiblity that has given should be minded it in his mind.By this you can make him more trusty and will definitely think and review of his performance and will try to improve it.once you get his trust then he will learn about working.so in my views the conversation is best way to solve this type problems.You should review always the performance of candidates and never follow his/her mischievous behavior.all the best

    hello friends..

    1)over confidence is curse for employeement and has negative effective on performance

    2)at this situation give a some 6 months time to him to improve performance

    3)if he will not improve the performance simply decrease his increment and also his promotion

    4)simply sit him on bench

    5)he will realize no problem otherwise it may create problem to him

    Hello Sir,
    Yeah it may be true that he got appraisal on the basis of his performance but you need to talk to him.
    because the case seems as if he is not satisfied with the amount of increment as per his performance and you need to resolve the issue by talking to the person individually and you can assure him that if he continues to perform better then he will get more increment over the year.and you need to make him understand on which parameter he got this much if increment and on which parameters he needs to concentrate.
    if he is taking it casually then you may give him a warning that this may affect his next appraisal.
    this will cahange his attitude and he will work hard

    hello sir,
    i think you should check his working environment. is it same or it has been changed.
    if it has been changed then try to get back the previous environment.
    it may be that his team would have changed due to increment. so i think you should check his earlier and present team members. sometimes company of some special member also affects the performance.
    so i just want to say that , you should check the problem he is facing and try to remove it.

    There might be lot for reason for the decrease in the performance of the employee:-
    >>not interested in the job..
    >>induldge in some other job..
    >>personal problem..
    you have to do:-
    >>firstly talk to the employee and ask about the reason..
    >>give him/her a proper notice about the decrease in performance and wait for reply..
    >>if that employee performance is not improved then you have to resign him /her....

    Hello,Usually when any of the employee is appraised or given increment he will be having more responsibility of performing even better in an ascending manner..But here when your employee is promoted his performance have decreased..This may be due to the reason that he is ineffeicient to handle the work pressure..So the manager should approach him and ask his work problem and give him suitable suggestions to work upon that..Thank you..
