What should be done when one of your colleagues wants you to bunk the office after lunch, with him?

I am working in a software company. One of my colleagues, who is also a good friend, wants me to bunk the office after lunch, along with him. But I am strictly against doing such things as I donít want to lose my impression on my boss. What should I do so that my friend agrees not to bunk the office?

    Hello Friend,

Well, you should never do that during office hour. Ifyour colleague wants to bunk office after launch then he should do taht at any time but he ahs no right to force you to accompany him. You should follow your own work and moral ethics and there is no way you should allow people like him to dictate the term. As a professional you should follow the rules prescribed by your company. Your colleague is violating the norms of the office and someday he will be caught in red handed. Hence, you should avoid people like him otherwise you will be in trouble.

    Bye,

    HI friend,

As you are strictly against doing such things and its also not fair to bunk the office during working hours.

As the job you are doing is to earn money for your living, it is not at all good and it may get you a bad impression.

So explain your friend the consequences that you would face if you bunk the office.

Tell your friend that you can enjoy the weekends that you get as holiday.

If your friend is not at all in a mood to listen to you then leave him alone, as you cannot compromise your job and the impression that you have got from your boss.

HOpe i have helped you in getting relevant information.

    All the best

    Thanking you...

    Hi,
As you mention that, you are working in software company, so i am agree with you that its not good impression on boss if he know about your bunk. As its your career and friend is other part of life. Also i am agree that your best friend do these types of things.
It may be possible that sometimes we get bored from office(day to day life) so friend and little bunk is good and which don't affect your career.
So just decide and then discuss with your friend. I am pretty sure that he understand your point and always be happy with both friend and office.
Have a great life and enjoy with limitation..
    Thanks

Office is certainly not the place where you behave as a student who bunks the class and goes out and spends his time out with friends and freak out without any responsibilities and student life is certainly a life where there are no burden no matter what even though people pressure to perform well you have the freedom to do things according to your wishes only.. But the situation and position right now you are in is different one you are an responsible employee in a software company.don't try to act irresponsible you are professional and never compromise at work regularities and work culture..there are some certain rules and decency at functioning of the company..even though you don't have that much work at office it doesn't mean that you go out with out prior information to your boss .. Its totally bad professional behavior your friend or colleague is encouraging you.. You were right in thinking that your boss can notice you if you don't not attend the office after the lunch it makes a bad sign of you in not attending the office hours.. So be in safe and secured position its good if you don't feel good at work you can ask for permission and take permission and you go out nobody will ask you and you have the right to go out with all the freedom..

Absence at work is a bad gesture as it would effect your good work people with talent and hard work suffer from being not recognized at work this is mainly to due to failure of an employee who never shows up the responsibility at taking the credit for what work he does.. So when ever your boss sees you absent without his permission then you will give him chance to single out your irresponsibility at work even though you complete the task assigned to you.. Remember the saying people will never remember a goal keeper who saves many goals but a goalkeeper will be cursed and people will remember and spill out venom for an goal keeper who misses the goals and if he fails to protect them when it matters the most..

You should be frank and do your duty in a righteous manner if your colleague is pressurizing you to bunk then it would be better to suggest him that you will join in after sometime after spending sometime after you settle things at your office desk..when he asks you why your not coming then you tell him that boss caught you and was he was asking you something relating to work.. So he can never ask boss about work assigned to you in between. He will be asked where he was so he doesn't dare to do it.. So sometimes we may be cheating colleagues but never mind no one will come to our rescue if something goes wrong when your reported that you are irregular at work.. Moreover bunks are an addiction if you do once and your not caught then it becomes a habit and its very difficult to forgo you do your responsibilities don't expect others to follow your rules.. Mind your work and be happy..

    Hello Aspirant,

See office is meant to work for the official works & according to some rules & regulations. The employee has to follow the protocol, ethics of the office in order to run the office in well conditions. There is a system of control & look after the activities & behaviours of the employees. In this regard, there is a provision of reporting boss, manager HR & or chief executive officer,Managing director etc to look after the activities of under employees. If any one is found violating the rules & regulations of the office,he/she is liable to answer & face the consequences.

Now using office as a bunk is totally illegal & violation of ethics. If you are found by doing so,you may loose your job.So you should advice in the same manner to your friend & if does not listen to you,let him do alone what he wants. He will be held responsible for any wrong things.

You should work there as per the provision of rules & regulations of the company & directions of your reporting boss for your prospective professional career.

    All the best.
