What is the procedure of the nominee get the Provident fund?

My son passed away few years back and I was noticed that I need to withdraw his provident fund account. So can you tell me what procedure has to be followed for that? Do I have to submit some proof? If so what all? Kindly provide the detail steps to follow.

    Dear Aspirant,

I am sorry to hear you.

You can get the PF amount of your deceased son by obtaining a legal heir certificate from the concerned office either from corporation or from block/Taluk office. You should have some passport size photographs, your bank acount details as A/c no.,name of the bank, branch name etc.Write a application claiming to be the legal heir of your deceased son, enclosing the legal heir certificate to the authority from whom you have got the letter to get the PF amount of your late son.

You will be further guided on your contact with the concerned authoriy or the regional Employees'Provident office situated in your location because the matter will be ultimately settled with the PF office only.If the concerned PF office is far away from your home, contact the office of your late office.Employees are generally very helpful & cordial in such situations.

    Thanks & have patience.

Dear Sir,To get the Provident Fund of your deceased son you are to prove that you are the next kin of your son i.e you are to prove that you are the real owner of the son's provident fund.In case your son is unmarried then as a next kin either mother or father or both can claim for the fund as a nominee or a court order is necessary regarding valid next kin to avail such funds.

    Thank you,

    Dear Friend!

You are needed to fill FORM -20- and FORM 10-D at the time of submit form and you given the name of nominee with proof for nomination that person is nominee for claim and have to be bank account of nominee. For more information you can visit your nearest PF office and contact to PF inspector. He/she will tell you the union leader name which is authorized for it.
