    What are the no of leaves available in the company?

    I am working as an accountant in one of the financial company. I am permanent employee. I have one leave in a month apart from Sundays and other government holidays.
    My salary gets deducted if I take more than one day leave in a month. But My leaves also goes off in a month if I donít take any. I just want to know generally how many leaves should be provided by the company as per law. Are they carry forward?

    you did not mention whether you are working in government sector or private..anyway the leave in the company depend upon the company standard suppose you are working in private sector so all company have own rule regulation some company provide in a year 20s leaves some more or less..

    hello friend,

    As you already know there is an limit for number of holidays in private companies

    As you mentioned you can take only one day leave in a month so better dont take unnecessary leave because companies have their own regulations

    By the way in case of any emergency like you met with an accident or someone died in relatives or any serious issue you are permitted to get leave from company

    All organization have their own policies regarding holidays but as you said you are an permanent employee so you can get more leave

    If you take extra leave then your salary will be deducted as per the company rules

    Generally Companies provide paid leaves(for which your salary doesn't get deducted) of 20 days.National holidays are extras. And yes the leaves can be carried forward.
    There is no such rule for monthly leave, there are always yearly leave.It depends upon company how many leaves it provide yearly.For example It companies give 20-25 paid leaves and 10 national holiday leaves which give you a 30-35 days yearly leave.

    Please read your company policies & rules for more clear details on this

    Generally in private sectors , atmost 21 leaves are granted for all employees which includes

    Sick Leave
    Annual Leave


    Compensatory leaves can be availed if you work on weekends

    Contact your helpdesk stating your issue and ask for solution to that

    Regarding leave of private company those companies are reputed they allow all types leave such as casuaveal leave /earn leave/medical leave/maternity leave etc.after all in pvt companies do not follow same pattern of leave every where just like govt.office.at your place you get 12 days'yearly but if you do not enjoy monthly it is to be lapsed but you see in govt.dpt your leave to be credited if you do not enjoy.ultimately there is no hard and fast rules that every company to maintain similarly.

    It really depends from company to company. I have around 3.2 holidays per month. Nothing called law as per your company is concerned because these are all private companies so they make their own law.

    Its better you get this clarified from you own office help desk or anyone you know. We cant know your company policy right?? Mostly leaves are carry forward some of them dont allow it . Some company provide money and they take the leaves.

    So it varies very much and from whatever you have mentioned i dont think your holidays are carry forward.

    hello sir,
    The no leaves given to any employee is depend on the company in which they works.
    But still same company gives max 3-4 leave if you have don't any physical problem.

    If any employee have physical problem and doctor have given a suggestion to taking bed rest then no company have the amount of your salary.

    In government job they also provide less no. leave to the employee.

    Hi guest, There are various kind of leaves which company provides to their employees. There is no exact leaves which apply to all private companies. It differs from company to company. Generally days of leaves ranges from 10 days -30 days per annum, which may be divided into monthly, quarterly or yearly. Even the carry forward of leaves also depends on the companies policy. So you have to go through your companies policy in order to know number of paid leaves available to their employees and the same are carry forwarded or not. Thanx

    1)You are in a private company where they giving less holidays to their employees.
    2)No of leaves in private company are as follows:
    a)Sick leaves:
    In case you are not well you can give letter for sick they will grant your leave.
    b)Emergency leave:
    If you have any emergency work so that you are not able to go to office you can give them emergency leave.
    c)Others letter like compensatory leaves where you get leave if you are working in weekends.

    The number of leaves in a Company differs from Company to Company.

    Generally in a government company,the number of leaves available are more.

    While in Private Company,you have to work for more days.

    If you are getting only one extra holiday other than Sundays,then you have to follow the rules of the Company.

    Moreover,there are provisions of holiday in Companies in case of any emergency also.

    So,if you want to take any extra holiday,you will have to pay for it in the form of deduction of salary.

    Mostly depend compant work which field you doing job

    In private and govenment sector 21 leaves total every

    company provide private and government both and if

    you have any problem so you see company policy seheme

    and full detail ask your boss and definatly understand your

    problem .

    There are so many leave in a company,,,,but there is no specific leave for specific company like IT Company, Telecom Company,,Manufacturing unit etc,,,,

    Categories of Leave:

    PL / EL-Privilage Leave / Earn Leave-According to Factories Act 1948 One Adult person is elligible one leave with every 20 days / One Leave with every 15 day incase of child.The person is elligible for getting the leave after working minimum 240 days in a calender year.If you have not utilised this type of leave it will carry farwarded to the next year,,,,,,But many organisations are some limit of carry forward,,the rest are encashed

    CL-Casual Leave-Total No of leave as per the companies leave policies,,,,It will not forwarded to next year or no cash encashment.It will lapsed.

    SL-Sick leave-Total No of leave as per the companies leave policies,,,,It will not forwarded to next year or no cash encashment.It will lapsed.Such type leave required some proof like the medical certificate etc,,,,

    Short Leave/ Half Day
    etc-Whenever you are looking for change this type of leave is very necessary for you,,,,,,,
    Maternity Leave- Total 12 Weaks Leave,,,,

    every company have their own policies

    you know that the company will give only one day leave in a month

    so avoid necessary leaves ,because company have their rules

    if you want a urgent leave ,go to company manager and tell the problem,the manager fives the reply in the positive way

    in the government sector their give the officially 21 days in the calendar

    you can get some other leaves unofficial

    in the private sector the leaves are classified as the

    sick leaves
    casual leaves
    privilege leaves
    short leaves
    compensatory leaves

    Hello Friend,
    As you are saying you get 1 leave per month and that gets lapsed once the month ends is quite irrelevant. a company must not have this type of policy ,please contact your manger or HR concerned and please go through the company policies once again and if you have any doubt get it clarified by them.
    Because every company provides leave (varies from company to company) and these are not succumbed at the end of the month ,then whats the benefit of having leave when it wont be useful.so please talk to your HR and clarify it whether they are providing any bulk leaves afterwords or not because 1 leave per month sum up to 12 leaves per year which is very low.
    so i am very certain that they must have some backup plans to provide some bulk leaves at special occession or ...etc

    Hi friend,

    Number of leaves varies from organization to organization. If you are working in government firm, you have Sundays, government holidays and some have second Saturday as holidays. Apart from these causual leaves, medical leaves, maternity or paternity leaves. These are carry forward to next year.

    In private firm it is purely depends on that firms rules and regulations. So go through your companies policies and make sure you followed the rules. If you have any doubts contact HR manager.
