What is the minimum annual increment of employees?

Last month which was April we got the annual increment of 6% of the gross salary which according to the employees is very minimal amount. An employee waits and works hard for this annual increment and when such things happen how we could get motivated to work. Please tell me the minimum annual increment of employees?

    Hi,

You are very correct with the concern...actually all the employees very hard for an increment to beat the inflations...
However this is also correct that there is no fixed rate for increment in the organisation...no body can say that __% will increase every year... practically the is not at all correct for private organisations...

    Hope for the best..

    Hello Aspirant,

The employees both in pvt. & govt. organisations get annual increment in salary in order to meet the rise in cost of living which includes rise in the cost of almost all commodities, rise in medical expenses, rise in educational expenses etc.The rise in salary is given to those employees whose performance has been satisfactory & have completed continuous one year of service during the concerned financial year.

The rise in salary in pvt.company depends on the policy of the company to company & their financial positions. Also it is mentioned in the terms & conditions of the employment letter of the employees that at what rate your salary would be increased annually. If every thing is alright,It may vary from 10 to 15 % in pvt.companies.The minimum rate may be any thing. The employers may not give any increment if the company is running under loss.

    It is fixed to pay
    annual increment
at the rate of 3% of sum of basic & grade pay to the employees in govt.sectors on 1st July every year. The conditions required to get in the govt. sectors are same as in the case of pvt.sectors.

So need not worry & work with full interest. If you want, you can try for still better job.

    Good Luck.

Dear aspirant indeed over all 6% increase is not a good annual increment yet you are to take this increment happily. The sources of salary increases are DA for inflation, Annual increment this increment is usual all employees get increment, next incentive/bonus it is payable on the performance of the company.Over all you can expect an increase of 20% hike every year.Because the inflation rate is not less then 10% ,you are getting 10% real increase.

You can raise hue and cry if your payment is not done according to the status of the company. If your company's turn over growth is below 6% then you can not demand a sharp increase. If the company supress their growth and profit then it is not good symptom for employee.Last of all you can try to get maximum increment on the performance/growth of the company. If company's net increase is 25% then you should get over all increase 25%.Again without company's growth you can not demand whimsically.

    Thank you,

I think starting increment is 10% per annual. Any company provides increment as per their rules or decided time on interview.
If you demands increment against the rules of company then your demand is not proper and If your company not gives you increment at decided time then you have a reason for leave.
