Telephonic interview is generally taken to save time .It is generally adopted as a step in whole interview process
where persons are shortlisted on the basis of the telephonic interview for the panel interview. This helps them in reducing number
of eligible candidates for the panel interview making it a cost saving process.

    hi friend,

its good to hear that you have got selected for a interview.

the main difference between telephonic interview and the panel interview is that:-

    1. Telephonic interview is nothing but the screening interview, in which they are going to test your ascent, and your attitude.

    2. In panel interview they are going to test your communication skills in a group where you need to excel in between a group of people.

The main reason for having a telephonic interview is to short list the candidates in order to save time, as you know that there is a lot of competition now-a-days.

so, dont worry as you are going to excel in the interview, all the best for the interview.

In the telephonic and the panel interview most of the questions would be same, but i would expect the in-person interview i.e, panel interview would be some what extensive.

    thanking you.

    Hi,

Panel Interview-Where the candidate go to the employer place and attend interview face to face.
Telephonic Interview-Where the employer give a call to candidate and ask questions.

    Questions don't differ.

Telephonic interview is mostly for experienced people not for freshers.

Since candidate in different parts of country cant keep traveling employers take telephonic interview.

They cant keep attending interviews in distance places.

    Thanks,

    Hi ,

Difference is A panel of members be presented to interview directly.Face to face interview is Panel interview.

Telephonic interview is that the interview will happen in phone.

    Questions wont differ mostly.

Telephonic interview has the advantage because you speak over the phone you can have the related things with you and give them the proper response.

Your tension will not be seen by them.

Telephonic is very beneficial if you wanted to attend interview in different part of the world.

Panel interview contains a group of members where you get to answer them .

    Thats the difference.

    Thanks !!

    Dear Friend

Telephonic Interview is anew technique for reducing the number of candidates for the next recruitment steps.

There is a huge difference between a panel and telephonic interview..

Telephonic interview is generally conducted in the BPO sector where they need some good voice

Panel Interview has a lot difference as in this he interviewer can see that your are nervous or not if getting a problem in answering a question..

The Panel Interview is very formal you need to have a good gesture and attitude but in a telephonic interview you need a good voice and some confidence..

    Dear friend,

Basic difference between telephonic and panel interview is, panel interview is a face to face interaction and telephonic is over the telephone interaction.
Telephonic interview can be done by a single recruiter also and can have other experts too in an conference call, generally panel interview over the conference call takes place for higher level designations.
You can say telephonic interview is a preliminary interview which ends on panel interview by a face to face interaction, where a panel of experts(2 or more) sit in front of you and closely monitor you and may ask questions.
You can get some repeated questions too in both telephonic as well as panel interview but you wont find same questions asked in both of them. For example questions like Brief me out about your profile? and Expected salary ? may get repeated in both of them.

    All the best.

Re: What is the major difference between a Panel interview and Telephonic interview? Will the questions differ completely?

Panel interview deals with face to face interview which is the most common form of interview.

But telephonic interview is held for long distance interview and to manage time constraint.

And questions vary as per the situation. Mostly telephonic interview are held when the client wants to take interview.

Panel interview can be considered a bit stressful and difficult as far as telephonic interview are considered.

Re: What is the major difference between a Panel interview and Telephonic interview? Will the questions differ completely?

Yes.Telephone interview & Panel interview is totaly different from one another.
Telephone interview is conveyed on phone and by only one recruiter whereas Panel interview is conveyed in face to face manner & by panel of interviewer.

In the Panel interview , there is panel of interview from which anyone can asked any question to you and you should be capable to give answer of them.In the panel interview, you should be professional , confidence , looking strait & eye to eye towards panel with smiley face and give satisfactory answer of their question. At last , if they are asked to ask any question to them ,then you should prepare to ask atleast one question which is suitable with them

In the Telephone Interview , you are asked some simple question about yourself , your education , your family , about company and about your field etc.During that interview , you should give answer with great understanding and 3 to 4 sentence.don't waste too much time because time is also important with giving satisfactory answer.
During telephone interview , you should know about company's detail , give complete answer of any question about your resume or CV.don't answering too fast.

there are many question which are asked commonly in the both telephone interview as well as panel interview.

    Tell about yourself ?
why you apply for this position & what are the responsibility at that position ?
what are your weakness & strength ?
why you preffer our company ? what you know about our compnay ?
Upto what time you remain in your company ?
Would you like & accept if we relocate you in anywhere in india ?
what are the challenge facing during this job & salary expectation ?

Re: What is the major difference between a Panel interview and Telephonic interview? Will the questions differ completely?

    Hi,

I would like to let you know that Telephonic interview is nothing but its an elimination round or you can say its just the process to reduce the number of candidates for an in-person interview. It mostly lasts for 20 to 30 minutes in which interviewer get to know about the skills and capability of the candidate. The candidates who clear this round, get the call from company's HR for in-person or panel interview. Basically panel interview is that in which more than two person sits to ask the questions.
In government interviews, mostly a big panel of at least 5 members sits to ask the questions, but in software company not more than two person sits.
Don't get nervous about it, be confident. Mostly all interviewer's always asks about the introduction first, then they come on technical part. Do one thing, before getting a call for an interview be ready with your resume and with copy and pen. Might be you need copy and pen to answer some logical questions.

    ALL THE BEST!

telephonic interview is taken on the phone.this type of method is approaches when there is less time and lot of people.this is genreally a smart step usually taken by some companies.whereas panel interview is the direct interview taken to the candidates who are shortlisted through the telephonic interview.
