    What is the HR role in handling recession impact?

    We have opened this company before 5 years. I am working as an HR from past 3 years. This is the first recession that the company will face. Our CEO has informed us to make a report on the impact of this recession to our company. Based on this repost they will decide how to handle this. As an HR even I have certain responsibility when this recession comes. As I am new, I want to know the HR role in handling recession impact. Please suggest.

    Hi Aspirant,
    firstly , I would like to say that HR is the soul of any company. HR manage the all responsibilities like-
    *To meet another Company HR.
    *To handle Recession
    *To recruit
    As you have mentioned that you are working in company on HR post from 5 years, then You should
    also know about that how to handle it ?
    In recession, you should inform all the workers about it. For some months you should give less salary
    to all workers as well as Manager post.

    RECESSION MEANS OVER ALL A SLOW CONDITION CONTINUE.DEMAND OF COMPANY PRODUCT IS LOW WORLD WIDE THAN IT'S EFFECT WILL REACH TO A TINY SOFTWEAR COMPANY TOO.

    SO AT THIS MOMENT I AM TO MAKE REPORT TO SUPERIOR AS CEO ADVISED ME TO PREPARE,I AM THE MANAGER H/R SO I AM TO REDUCE OVERALL EXPENCES NICELY THAT A CLIENT DOES NOT FEEL WE ARE IN DISTRESS.DUE TO RECESSION ORDER/SELLING OF PRODUCTS REDUCES SHARPLY ie INCOME REDUCES SO I AM TO CUT EXPENDITURES FROM NEW RECRUITMENT/PROMOTION/BONUS/INCENTIVE ETC.

    THINKING ALL I WILL SUBMIT MY REPORT.

    hello dear...HR has a very important role during recession.Below i am writing some of the most important roles an HR should perform during recession.
    1-Proper Evaluation for the talents available within the company.
    2-Train the existing employees instead of recruitment of new ones

    3-Proper Communication between the Management and Employees
    4-Work on admin cost cutting and educate the employees on it
    5-Make Employees aware of Recession and get in measures of improving more productivity.

    6-Try and solve the conflicts between management and employees so as to have a smooth working.

    Moreover HR has to be a good communicator and a mediator to stop grapewine discussions regarding the company financial position during delay in salary and delay in appraisal. Work on attrition rate as employees may also leave the job thinking that the future of the company is in danger.

    The point has to be focused by HR management during recession are as follows:


    • To optimize the manpower strength.
    • To take strategic initiatives to increase the productivity and efficiency of the entire organization.
    • To work on compensation benefits.
    • Redesign training and development programs.
    • Alternative Workweek Schedules and Flexible Scheduling can maximize production and cut-back on overhead costs for organizations.
    • Reducing hiring cost
    • making emloyees more productive
    • Utilising internall resources 100% and getting the proper output from all.
    • .Instead of firing people he can plan for some thing like ..merging with other employers ,outsourcing employees on contract basis...something like this.
    • .HR is the only person in an organisation ..who can motivate the management to give good future to their employees.
