    What to do with an employee whose mistake resulted in the punishment of an innocent one?

    I am a manager in a private company. Recently it has come to my notice that due to the mistake of an employee another innocent employee got punishment. Now the employee who committed the mistake approached us and revealed the entire truth. What should be done now?

    Hi,

    As the employee who committed mistake as accepted his mistake , he must be punished lightly.
    He should be explained that such thing should not happen again.
    Due to his carelessness and mistakes, other employee suffered a punishment.
    So, he should be careful from now onwards.

    The innocent employee who got punished should be said sorry.
    You must say sorry to him and do whatever it takes to make him feel happy again.
    You must and the other employee must also apologize and promise that it will never happen again.

    As you are the manager , you must be very careful in giving punishments.
    You should take care that innocent employees do not suffer due to other employees mistakes.
    If so happens, you may loose efficient and innocent employees.
