    What to do in case of unclear policies for promotion?

    Every year, promotions take place on the basis of critical incident method of performance. The management team identifies employees who had performed well. I have been always working in the teams but somehow, I am not highlighted by my boss. Other members feel that I will be dragged for years to get promotion. I am confused about the policies. Please suggest what needs to be done.

    Hi aspirant

    If you are so unclear about the prmotion policies of your company , then you should consult the rules and regulations of your company and I am sure you will find a lot of information regarding this there. Also you should consult your HR and ask him the proper procedure for getting promotions and how to make sure that your boss notices you. I am sure he will give you the right information as it is his duty to help his employees.

    Maybe you are lacking in something that is preventing your boss from highlighting you during the promotions. So its better if you go and talk to your boss about it. Tell him that you are really sad that your name never comes up for promotions inspite of all the hard work and effort you put in your work. So ylou request him to list your shortcomings to you and how you should work upon them so that the next time you don't give him any reason to not promote you.You hope that he will understand your position.

    I am sure your boss will help you out and then you can get rid of all your weaknesses and hopefully get a promotion. Don't believe in others , only have belief in your abilities. All the best and Thanks

    Hi buddy

    You should definitely not be confused about the promotion policies of your company otherwise how will you know what are the requirements to get a promotion in your company. Firstly you should make yourself clear regarding the company's policies for promotion and then only blame your company for dragging you in this regards. You should consult your manager and discuss with him at length regarding the promotions and the reason why you haven't been highlighted for the promotions as yet inspite of putting in so much effort as a part of the team.

    I am sure your manager will definitely help you out in this regards and also you may consult your colleagues regarding the same. Then when are sure of the policies of the company, then you can work hard according to that and I am sure your promotion will just a few metres away. You should do your work with fulll dedication and complete all your tasks on time and then only you will get your promotion. Otherwise there is no way you can get yopur promotion withouit giving your all to your work. Also good relations with your manager will definitely come in handy.

    So friend work in the right direction and you will definitely come out as a winner. All the best
