    What to discuss in the performance appraisal?

    Itís just a year since I have joined the company and now we have the performance appraisal discussion with my Manager and there I need to speak up but I have no idea what all to discuss. So can you please tell me what should I discuss during the performance appraisal? Kindly provide me your experience on this.

    Evaluation of performance of employee for a period of time is performance appraisal.

    This is done in the form of an Interview with the employee.

    Where the employee will be given feedback about his performance for that period.

    All the standards and the employee performance levels to reach the standards will be explained.

    Some rating will be given in this appraisal.

Performance appraisal is to understand an employee's ability and capability towards work..and is useful for making a employee be useful for future growth of the company... Generally performance appraisal is carried out in two ways:
    1.managers compare the pay or salary of employee with targets achieved and plans designed by employee by the employee.
    2. Manager measures the success rate achieved by employee in assigned work.

    2.compensation if you claim any.
    3.employees development.
    4.selection validation.
    5.communication between employee and management.

    In the Appraisal meeting the Manager will discuss about your Performance during the last one year
    He will tell you about your good areas and areas for improvements

    He will also rate you on various parameters like discipline, work performance etc
    In this meeting you should also highlight about your performance and alo what extra you have done for the team apart from your normal work
