What is the difference between skilled, semiskilled and unskilled worker?

I am working in garment manufacturing company. I work there as supervisor. This is my first job and my manager has told me to classify the employees on the basis of their skills. He has given three types skilled, semiskilled and unskilled worker. I want to know what this classification is. What is the difference between skilled, semiskilled and unskilled worker?

Re: What is the difference between skilled, semiskilled and unskilled worker?

Skilled, semi skilled and unskilled are three types of labourers differentiated by their technique, work experience and ability to produce. In simple words skilled workers are those workers who had proper training for the work or who are experienced and thus their outputs are better. While semi skilled workers are those workers whose outputs are a little bit inferior to that of skilled workers. And unskilled workers are those workers whose outputs are the most inferior or in some cases they might produce the same quality of output but they take much longer time to produce it. You can divide the workers according to their working nature, as a supervisor you can have complete access to the working profile of the workers so rate them skilled, semi skilled and unskilled according to their output quality, time consumed, technique used and so on. Hope it helps.
