What amount of information should I disclose about my previous company at the time of interview when they ask for it?

I am working in an MNC company called HP. The company policy tells that we are not suppose to discuss about our company secrets with outside people. But when we come out for interview in another company and they for previous company information, What amount of information should we provide? Is it we tell them about our present working company? Can anybody tell me how to answer this interview question?

    Hi,

First of all understand not to disclose any company information during interview

The moto of the question is to test your trustable person or not

So never disclose the information even if your stressed . That is to test you for sure

Tell your nature of the work and the benefits you got in the company for career growth thats enough

So be careful at this question .

    Thanks !!!!

Hi. I can surely understand your dilemma . I think you should tell the interviewer whatever he asks you about your company. Only answer to the point and not more than that if he asks a specific question about your company. Do not hesitate to answer as it may not go down well with the interviewer and affect your chances of getting the job.

But if the interviewer asks you in general to tell something about your previous company just tell him some positive points like the work environment, salary etc and tell the reason why you left your job. Dont try to mention the demerits unless he asks. Also dont try to divulge any sensitive info about the company.

    Best of luck

Re: What amount of information should I disclose about my previous company at the time of interview when they ask for it?

    Hello,

Friend the company ask this kind of question during the interview for basically 2 reasons.

    Reason 1:
They wants to check if you have done any productive work in the previous company or not.
By that they come to know about your dedication and passion for your job.
So there you kind of have to tell them what role did you play in the company and how did you tackle the problems when you faced any.

    Reason 2:
The same question is also asked to check if you can be trusted.
No company wants that there employees leak the confidential information to the there companies.
Because that will get the company in trouble and heavy losses.
    So thats the other reason.

Now it is upto you to decide till what level you can give the information of your company to those people in the interview.

    -Regards

    Hi Friend,
It is one of the tricky question for experienced candidates. In the interview you can explain what your role in the company. What are your achievements there.
Just give brief description about the company. That doesn't reveal any internal issues of that company. By this question they will estimate your character whether you are a trustble person or not.
So never ever reveal about companies confidential matters eventhough they asked N number of times. Just explain your roles and responsibilities in the organization. That is enough.

    All the best!!

    Hello

First of all i would be honest about what i worked and how much i learned from my previous company. Just tell about your self do not mention anything about the company.

If they ask you "tell me about your company" then just introduce your company , tell them those information which are public. Do not disclose anything internal.

Even if they force you, you should be calm and reply in a cool manner. They would do this as a part of the stress test.

Thank you and all the best

I would like to inform you that most of the companies are interested to know that why you want to leave your current company. Moreover, you can provide them with accurate reason of leaving your current company and can provide them with the working environment. You can tell them about the field of work you do and about your personal experience but avoid to say anything against your current company as it will leave a negative impact on interviewer.Do not provide any private information of company to outsiders regarding deals and offers.

    Hi Friend,
You should not give more details about your company as it is data privacy breach. While interviewer asks about company please try to talk positive things like work culture, team spirit, how you were able to grow and learn in a team environment. Interviewer always ask about your previous company to judge how adaptive you were there and how well and diligently you have performed your last job. Do not talk much regarding company structure or detailed salary structure, policies etc. Please try to limit your talk on the contribution you had to the company and how well you grew or shaped career there. Hope it answers your query.

    Regards.

    Dear friend ,

This is common questions when you go to interview from leaving one company to other .

answer them positively. Do not say any negative points about your previous company. Do not disclose the secrets of your previous company .

This question is asked by interviewer to check your loyalty about the company.

Tell them the reason you left the job , tell about previous salary that you not satisfied.

Thank you . All the best..

Re: What amount of information should I disclose about my previous company at the time of interview when they ask for it?

I will for sure perceive your quandary I believe you must tell the inquirer no matter he asks you concerning your company. solely answer to the purpose and less than that if he asks a selected question concerning your company. don't hesitate to answer because it might not go down well with the inquirer and have an effect on your probabilities of obtaining the task.

however if the inquirer asks you normally to inform one thing concerning your previous company simply tell him some positive points just like the work atmosphere, wage etc and tell the explanation why you left your job. Dont try and mention the demerits unless he asks. conjointly dont try and tell any sensitive information concerning the corporate.
They needs to visualize if you have got done any productive add the previous company or not.
By that they are available to grasp concerning your dedication and keenness for your job.
thus there you quite have to be compelled to tell them what role did you play within the company and the way did you tackle the issues once you long-faced any.
a similar question is additionally asked to visualize if you'll be trusty.

No company needs that there staff leak the counseling to the there corporations.
as a result of that may get the corporate in bother and significant losses.
    thus thats the opposite reason.

Re: What amount of information should I disclose about my previous company at the time of interview when they ask for it?

    Hello friend,
You should be careful enough while answering questions about previous company.
if they ask something about company work culture and company environment and what company doing for employees then you can answer these positively.
apart from that if they ask about company business policy and company turn over ..etc to check your knowledge then you can tell in brief but dont disclose all to them.actually the things which are available on site you can tell those as they are for public knowledge .
but dont say anything regarding company projects, how it deals with its clients.what is company future planning and if they ask any thing to produce like your previous projects soft copy..etc then refrain from doing this.
because it will back fire you .the previous company may take legal action against you for security breach and it will create a bad impression against interviewer as they suspect you the same you will do with there company after you leave job so they wont trust you and your chance to get the job will decrease.
so refrain from sharing all relevant things of your previous job .
    Thank You.
