Unable to decide whether to take my friendís opinion on my project or not as I donít trust him anymore

I am working in a software company. Recently I was need of someoneís advice regarding my project and one of my colleagues offered to help me. But he has cheated me in the past and I donít trust him anymore. So I am confused whether to take his advice or not. What to do in such a situation?

    Dear friend,

In professional world its not wise to take trust anyone. But if he is offering you any help, just listen to what he has to say. If you fell that can help you just take his help instead of pondering here and there. But if you find that what is he offering or suggesting will not work out, just let him know that you are not comfortable with his idea and would like to go some other way round.

Never resist your self from taking ideas from anyone. I understand your fear that person cheated you in past. But he may be genuine this time. So let him offer what he has and then decide what you need to do.

    Thanks

    Hey..,

Your fear is justified as when one loses trust on someone it really becomes impossible to gain it again. If gained , there is a lack of satisfaction from within. You know the person had cheated on you in the past , so you ca't be any sure about his future intentions. But directly refusing him to help is also not the proper way as we are not sure about what he is likely to do. He may have felt guilty and wanted to help you in true sense.
But you have to make yourself safe from being cheated on in future. So you take his advise politely , think over it . You may also take the help from any other seniors regarding the project. You may look for the help in project in internet. Everything is available on it now a days. If you feel your colleague had suggested the same way , then there is no problem ,you should thank him. But if you find a difference , don't trust on him anymore.

    Thank You.

    Dear guest,
according to me,nowadays everyone has become selfish.
no one wants to see another progress.so,until you have not a great faith you should not follow him.
but in my view you may take advice or help because taking advice is not harmful.
but don't apply the same to your project.you should first verify his views or advice that either it is fruitful for you or not.if you are thinking that yes it is correct then you apply it to your project so that you can get a success.
since previously he has cheated you so don't reveal the secrets of your project to him.try to take help without revealing the secrets.and lastly apply your sense only.
don't do the things in others manner but instead just listen others views and think on it and create your own logic and apply that only.
thank you & all the best !!!
