You should not behave in such a manner and should be positive about everything in life. You should definitely tell your best friend what is in your mind and still better try to learn a few things from him. I am sure that if some of his qualities come in you, you will be able to do much better as a performer. So you should not feel bad about losing to him but take it as a challenge to outperform him the next time. Give 100% effort to your work and then nothing will be impossible for you. You should not leave any stone unturned while doing your work and then i am sure that even if you do not succeed in some task, atleast you would have no regrets as you did your best.

Now you should immediately talk to your friend regarding this matter. Tell him that you have always wanted to outperform him in every task but you are never able to. Thus you want him to teach you some qualities which you are lacking that will help you to become a better performer in the future. You are telling this to him as he is your closest buddy in the company and a little bit of competition won't hurt anyone.

Re: Unable to compete with my colleagues

    Hi,

We are living in an era where there is immense pressure to succeed
. Every individual is trying hard to get to the top and be a winner in the rat race of glory and success. But that does not mean that we either kill the peace of our life and start running after others in the rat race or lose all hopes and let our dreams get stuck in the dark tunnel of despair and hopelessness.

The motto of our life should be to keep toiling hard and upgrading our knowledge and skills to enhance our personality so that we could present the best of our personality when demanded for. My friend, instead of competing with others, you should compete with yourself and try excelling the qualities that you have already attained. In addition, keep learning new skills and try achieving new goals in life so that your professional life does not get monotonous but also enjoy in your personal life so that you could always remain destressed and fresh.

But yes, always keep brushing up the positives of your personality and keep working on your areas of improvements. You will see that with the passage of time, you will evolve into a confident and accomplished individual who will not get deterred by the acts of others but would create your own milestones to be reached by others.

    Wish you luck!
    Ritz

    HELLO,
1.Consider the competitive realities of your work environment.

    2.
    Look to yourself first.

3.Try working with rather than against openly competitive colleagues.

    4.
Be risk averse with the sneaky or saboteur competitive colleague.

    5.If necessary, minimize contact.

    6.
    Look up rather than sideways.

    7.
Be an advocate for more cooperation in the workplace.
    THANKS.........

    Hello friend

It is very bad to hear your situation,in fact the same situation is faced by many of us,the first thing that i would suggest you is that never get disheartened and keep trying for betterment.

It is very good to have such a talented friend who is so intelligent and always outperforms you in every task you get, this is very good as it creates an environment of competition, having competitive environment is very good for better performance, we give our 100% to be in the at the top position,in such pressure we do all those which without such pressure is not possible.

See friend you should remove the feeling that you have to compete with your friend, besides you should compete with yourself, this would be the best thing and surely help you in your progress.you should compete with yourself and try improving yourself daily, you should note out the things in which you are deteriorating with your friend and try removing all these drawbacks;for this you can take the help of your best friend who is also very intelligent.

    All the best

    Thank you.
