Training in government sector but certificate given for private sector

I have done my internship from a government bank. During my internship the bank got merged with a private sector bank. When I completed my internship, the certificate for training was provided by the private bank not from the government bank. Is this right?

    Dear Friend
I feel that what the bank has done is right.
Once an organisation changes it name after getting merged with another organisation, it cannot continue using the old name in any of its transactions. So I believe whatever the bank did was right.
Having said that there is one more thing we need to take into consideration. When any organisation mergers of gets acquired by another organisation, the percentages are shares are involved in it. Generally the organisation holding the highest number of shares is the owner of the newly formed organisation and the other is just a stakeholder and the name can be decided by the owning side or by mutual consensuses.
So in your case I think the private side owns more shares and they have given the certificate in their name. In simple words they have done the right thing.
As for your doubts or fears that you donít have a government certificate, I would say that wouldnít make any difference. Wherever you use this certificate you can always explain that the bank got merged and that way the weightage of the certificate will be maintained.
    Good luck....

    Hello,

The situatuion is bit confusing. You have mentioned in your post that the govt bank got merged with a private bank. This means majority of the share now is with the private bank. That is why, the bank will be named after one with the majority of the share (in this case the private bank).Due to this reason your certificate will have the name of the private bank .But dont be bothered with this.As it is the certificate which is going to matter and not the name. The experience which you have gained from your internship is the most important thing here.Certificate is just a proof of your claim that you have done the internship.

    Hi aspirant

I certainly think that what your management has done is the right step and that they would have certainly done it according to the rules and regulations otherwise they are not going to get anything out of it by giving you a certificate of a private bank rather than a government bank. As your govt bank has been merged with a private sector bank, while you were doing your training, so of course you will get the certificate of the owner which I think, in your case, is the private bank.

Also you should go and consult this with your manager. I am sure that he will guide you in the right direction and will definitely tell you the reason that why you have been given the certificate of a private bank when you have started your training in the government bank. This will definitely clarify your doubts and will solve all your queries. I am sure that the private bank has more power and that's the reason your govt. bank merged with it.

I hope that you understand my point. Good luck and thanks

    Hi
This is sorry to say but it is very difficult to obtain the certificate of the government firm as for the present it is merged with a private firm. During the period of your training it was merged you said and if it was merged before the completion of your training then they donít have the right to give you the government certificate because for the present scenario on the date of the completion of your training the bank has turned into a private firm
