Time taken for pension to get sanctioned?

I am a government employee in one of the government recognized and run universities of India. I am about to be sixty. I will retire this year. I want to know how much time is required to get the pension sanctioned and after how many months will I be getting the pension amount.

Re: Time taken for pension to get sanctioned?

The terms retirement plan and superannuation refer to a pension granted upon retirement of the individual. Retirement plans may be set up by employers, insurance companies, the government or other institutions such as employer associations or trade unions.Since you are a government employee,so the pension plan will be set by the government.

As in you query, you have said that you are working in one of the government recognized and run universities of India,so your pension plan will be looked upon in that manner. As per the norms of the government, most of the government run universities are half owned by the State Government and half by the Central Government. So,your pension will be sanctioned under the State government.

Usually in these cases, the pension plan is sent to the administrative office in the capital of the State. Then your entire pension plan will be checked and scrutinized. All the necessary formalities will be done and then your pension will get sanctioned. It is usually faster as compared to the authorities run by the Central Government. It may take about 1.5 months to 2 months to get your file completed and from then on you will be starting to receive the pension amount every month.
