The teachers of our school are pressing upon me to keep Saturdays off

I am the Principal of a government school. The teachers of my school have been pressing upon me for the past few days to keep the Saturdays off as it becomes very hectic otherwise. I donít think this is done as the other schools also donít have Saturdays off. What should be done in such a situation?

Being a principal of a Government school you have to follow the law of the land. The norm that is followed in any other schools of your district / state must be followed by your school also. You will be in much bigger problem at a later stage if you keep saturdays off as it will be totally against the rules. So, clearly instruct all the teachers that changing this rule is not in your hand and so they should stop demanding unjustified things and stick to their task. You should call all of them for a meeting and then clearly convince them about your decision.

In government schools 2nd Saturdays are holidays. And the rest all Saturdays are full days.As your teachers are keeping pressure on you to give half day in Saturdays you can approve it.Before approving it you have to take this to the notice of the higher official because your college is under the government. You should tell to the teachers that the syllabus should be covered and the students should get good marks.
    all the best
    thank you

    Hello Sir,

This is not the reason that what other schools do?...if you are capable to keep Saturday off then you can do this. You have to see that because of Saturday off classes should not be in loss....

So, If your classes and teachers are capable to cover the syllabus in 5 day week pattern then you can do Saturday off.

    Thanks

Like a key of the Govt college it's important to comply with legal issues in the land. The standard that is followed in any alternative universities of the center / talk about need to be with your own college also. You're going to be inside much bigger problem for a eventually step in the event you continue to keep Saturdays off of because it will likely be completely contrary to the rules. So, certainly teach each of the lecturers in which shifting this specific guideline is not inside your hand they usually must stop demanding unjustified issues plus remain with their task. You should phone them all for opertation after which certainly convince these of your decision.
With authorities universities 2nd Saturdays are holidays. And the remainder most Saturdays are 100 % days.As your own lecturers are keeping force for you to give 1 / 2 morning inside Saturdays you are able to approve it.Before approving the idea it's important to take this specific on the detect in the higher standard since your school is actually beneath the government. You must notify on the lecturers how the syllabus should be covered plus the students must acquire great marks.

    Hello Friend,

Well, many schools have saturday off so this concept is not new. But the thing is quite different on your case. Your school is a goverment school so you have to follow goverment rules and regulations strictly. If there is any option for provision for Saturday off then you should take that option. But if there is no options then there is nothing you can do. But still you have talk to the managing committee about this issue and seek their advice. If they agree with your proposal then you have no problem declaring saturday as holiday. You should arrange a meeting with your teachers and talk to them with this issue. A group effort is always good than individual endeavour. Best of luck.

    Bye,

    • No, you can't agree with the silly demand from the teacher to make saturday as a holiday.
    • You are bound to follow the government rules and regulations prescribed in regard to it.
    • You must also consider the education of studying there.
    • If any teachers ask you to do it then you must clearly stated you can't do it as you are bound by rules and regulation.
    • If they continue to do same, then you must have to complaint education officer of your city in this regard and get the matter solved.

    Hello Aspirant,

Since you are working in a govt.school as a principal, you are required to go through the rules & regulations of the govt. There is a calender published by the govt.press which includes all types of holidays indicated in red colour. These include even Sunday also. The details of leave are mentioned at the bottom of the calender which shows which type of leave has been indicated. The leave may be national holiday such as 26th January,15th August,2nd October, leave for festival such as for Durga pooja,Deepawali,Holi etc.

You can declare Saturday as off as your activity is watched by the district administration & your deaprtment seniors officers. If you do so,you will be held responsible, because you are a principal of the school.

So work as per the direction of the concerned govt. & not on demand of your school teachers.

    Good luck.
