Should we inform about officials who were taking bribes

I work in a Government office and have recently joined in my new office. I was offered a 5% cut by an agent if I gave the contract to him. I refused and he said that the official who was there before me used to take it and it makes ‘lives easier’. Should I report this to seniors or leave it be because the person is no longer there.

    Hi friend

You should definitely stand against corruption and fight against it.If people like you and me don't do anything in this regard then it is sure to make our country a living hell by corruption being practiced in each and every department. You should definitely raise your voice against it and should not act leniently in this case. You should definitely report it to the higher authorities even if the corrupt official has left the workplace.

You should go to the higher authorities and tell them that the official before you was indulging in highly corrupt practices as informed to you by one of the agents. He offered you a 5% cut to give him the contract. You straightaway refuseed as you don't believe in such corrupt practices. He told you that the official who was there before you used to take it and that made life easier. You want them to take some action in this regard and give a deserving punishment to all such corrupt officials.

I am sure that your higher ops will definitely do something against this unless they themselves are not corrupt. good luck

    Dear Friend,

Don't take any actions to another person without having sufficient evidence.

A simple allegation would cause a serious damage in the relation between your boss and you.

But do not take part in bribery.

If you are pretty sure and you have enough evidence to prove your case then you can file a petition against that person.

Unless by simply hearing the words of a person don't run into wrong conclusions.

    Wish you all the best.

Dear taking or giving bribe is crime and illegal and against the law in India and if anybody try to give your bribe for this then you do not need to take it and do not try to touch that money at all and must inform to the senior employees but before that you should try to contact to higher authorities about this and tell them everything because when the person who were before you on that place used to take the bribe in that office then may be that there are some more employees included in this so that you should not tell anything in your office and reject that person instantly and inform to general manager or regional manager of your organization and they will get a good and proper solution for this matter and be honest in your work always because no one can see you during to receive bribe but GOD is always looking at you

    All the best
