Should we employ a person with a mental disorder?

I am working as a HR of a private company. Recently during one of our recruitment sessions , there was a person who has some mental disorder due to which he is slow in his work. He has good educational qualifications and according to his achievements is highly competent. I really want to help him out by giving him a job.. Should we give chance to this person? Will it affect our company’s work?

hello sirIt is very interesting that you want to select That candidate who is not mentally fit.As you see in notifications of job openings that an employer want to recruit only for those candidates who are-physically fit-having good background-good academic records-well personality-willingness of working in anywhere and In any conditions. So I want to say you that you should ignore such person because being a emotional is good but corporate culture does not allow to do it.It will be very worse if in the future such candidate will do any fault that may be costly or dangerous then you will be responsible for it.so I think you should not go on his/her qualifications because in past he/she was a normal but you should think presently not past.you should analyze that what is going on with him/her presently.so take decision with full wisdomthanks you

    Hi aspirant

You should definitely give chance to such a person who is not mentally fit and is competent enough in his work. Although he is slow in his work, but I am sure with his educational qualifications and achievements he will definitely be able to satisfy your needs as an employer. Also such people should really be given a chance so as to encourage them and if you and I don't give them a chance, then who will. Also it will also be good for the progression of our country. Our country will only progress if we give chance to such people also so that they are not reminded of their handicap everytime they don't get a chance. Otherwise our country will alaways remain a developing country.

So friend keeping all these points in mind, you should definitely give a chance to this employee as I am sure God is testing you in this way. If you will do him good, in turn God will help your company reach newer heights. In this way your company's work will certainly not be affected and rather every other company would appreciate this decision of yours and will also follow your cue. Then more such individuals will be given such chances and you will have a big role to play in it.

I hope you get my point. Good luck and Thanks

You told that he has good qualification and his achievements are high during his education or job at some other company thus it tells that that person has a lot of good qualities .Though he/she is partially mentally disordered but if he/she is behaving well with others and keeps the surrounding environment friendly then you should select him.You have some responsibilities and you may be asked that why you recruited him so you have to tell proper reasons. As a gentle man want to help him it is good but in business no decision is taken on the basis of emotions.

    HELLO SIR

I appreciate your kind hear firstly. It will be a good thing to give him opportunity because, as you said he is very good in his educational background, except the thing that he is slow. He might be slow, because he is not in the working field yet. I suggest you to intake that person, with out underestimating him.Who knows he would be the employee of the year...!!
He will be learning the work, but after learning he may be one of the good employees, with highest working rate...!!
Giving a chance to a person doesn't change the company's background at all.

HOPE YOU GOT THE SOLUTION.......THANK YOU....!!!
