Is it right for an employer to pay the salary on any date, pay the salary in three installments and not informing the delay in salary?

I would like to find out if it is right for an employer to:

    1) pay the employee different times every month, meaning they dont have a salary date, meaning that february he/she was paid the 26th and march he/she was paid the 31st then april he was paid 3rd of may and according to the employment contract the employer is supposed to pay the employee at the last working day of each month
    2) pay the employee's salary in three instalments
    3) also not informing the employees that their salaries will get paid late?????????????????

Here are the answer for you questions.

    1. As per the payment of wages act each employer has to pay wages in a particular day and it has to be fixed much earlier. IF the the number of the employee is less than 1000 then the day for paying the salary must be before 7th of every month. If there is more than 1000 then it has to be paid before 10th of every month.

    2. Employer cannot pay the salary of the employee in installments and it has to be paid has lumsome.

    3. Salary has to be paid on the particular day as I have mentioned in the 1st answer and so there is no question of informing about the delay for payment of the salary.

IF your employer is following the same then you can very will approach the labour officer in your area and give a compliant. He has also a right to take criminal compliant against your employer.

Hi.. All the points you have statrd are certainly not done and this only highlights the irresponsible behaviour of your employers.. These practices are certainly wrong and such people should certainly be taught a lesson..

The one reason for this could be that your company is not doing financially well but even if that's the case its the responsibility of your employer to inform you well in advance of the delay..

Also it is the duty of both the employees and employers to follow the rules and regulations of the company strictly and dont neglect it..

So you should certainly complain about him to the higher authorities or HR dept if possible and not sit quietly and face such injustice..

    Best of luck.. Thanks

    hello friends...

AS per employee the act every company has to pay the salary to employees for any date in company but you should fix that date for every month

do not change the date for every month that is not a good habit

some company not provides the salaries on fixed but they provide salary on their own day

the three installment is a not good procedure that obey the employee act rules

    good luck

Obviously not, this is highly unfair policy and it shows that company either don't take care of their employees or the company has bad financial condition. Although, any may be reason but company must inform employee for any delay in salary. As salary is owed by the company for the work we people do from them in preceding month and salary is not advance payment so how company can delay. This will create financial problem to worker.
