Promotion cancelled due to terminal illness

My promotion was due in the publishing house but now, it has been called off. I have been diagnosed with terminal illness. I am feeling dejected as my illness never hampered my work integrity. Should I have discussion with the boss before building expectations?

You are absolutely right that you must make a discussion with your boss before expecting for anything related to your job and your post because it is most compulsory for you that first of all you should go to your boss and meet them peacefully and tell them about your situation and ask them about your work and current performance in the company and if they say that you are doing good and also ask about previous performance and if your performance was best before then you should ask for promotion from your boss that when you have worked well for the company and for the increment and development of the market of the company then why didn't you get promotion in your job because you deserve for it and your work proves that you must get promotion and if they say that because of your illness then you may say to them this is not a right cause of this action because i was sick and tired and you did not give me the promotion it is not fair and you may say to them that you have never seen any type of issue in my work then only i deserve for promotion and you should provide me and if they say that you should wait for some more time then you should wait for sometime and try to perform well in the company

    All the best

    hi,
you should talk to the management about this as if you were ill then you never took excuse for your work. even you performed well enough to get promoted, so now they can reject that just because you are ill. it is really unfair, they must be knowing about your illness earlier even and they should always see the work and performance as a factor for these decisions.
talk to them about this, i am sure they will not be able to give a good reason to you.
    thanks
