Our manager is not allowing me to take a few days leave for helping my father, who is in distress

I am working in a software company. Recently my father suffered heavy loss in his business and is now in distress. I really want to take some time off and help him during this bad phase. But my manager is not ready to give me any leave for reasons best known to him. What to do in such a situation?

    Hello Friend,

Well, software industry is not any other industry where an employee can take leave at any time. Time driven execution of work to overseas clients are done by all software companies in India. During any project it is very difficult to get any holiday as it can jeopardize the project. But you have valid reason to ask for leave. Your father must be having a terrible time after losing a great deal in business. This is the time where you can visit him and share his pain with him and comfort him. This will give much needed relief. You have to talk to your manager you tell everything so that he can understand the real situation. You should request him to give a leave for couple of days so that you can stay with your father at home. Hopefully, he will grant you leave for a couple of days.

    Bye,

    Dear Aspirant,

Really it is very sad news to know.On the humanity basis, you must be sanctioned leave to look after your father. In this case you are advised to contact your manager HR & request to sanction you leave for the purpose said.If you have leave in your credit, you should get it.

Being an employee, you have to follow the official procedures to leave the place, but in some urgency employees leave the place by mere producing the leave application. In general, the employee leave the working place after getting the leave sanctioned. If you have leave in your credit & you are not being sanctioned it,then you may leave the place by mere submitting your leave application to your boss & a copy to the manager HR showing the urgency of the situation.

So you may also proceed as stated above.

    Thanks & good luck.

    HI friend,

As you are saying that your father had a loss in business he might be in a lot of distress, you need to attend him so that he can find some support as well as comfort.

IN a software company it is hard to find leave during the projects and heavy work schedule, but as the situation that you are in is important so ask your manager to grant the leave.

Explain him the situation in which you are in, Request him with politeness hope he will definitely understand your situation.

HOpe i have helped you in getting the relevant information.

    All the best

    Thanking you..

Well companies never see the emotions so all you need to all the things on your guts like if your father is in loss then you need not to explain these things to the boss because they will never give the leave for such reasons as they will think that its all bullshit.
So the thing you need to do is to make yourself like your health is not good at all, but you know that you are good but this is the best technique for you to get the leave because company can ignore the leave for any other reason but not if you are not well in health because company never takes the responsibility to care of your health so you need to take care of that by your own manners.
So after that if you get the leave then its ok but if they still insist then you need to go to the General manager regarding the same then they will definitely provide you the leave for illness.
After that you can help your father for as many days as you can.
