One of our colleagues came to the office drunk and slapped one of the staff members

I am working in a software company. Yesterday one of our colleagues, who is related to the boss, came to the office drunk and slapped one of the staff members, who help in keeping the office clean. Our boss was not there at that time. No one is going to tell him anything due to their relation but I donít think this is fair and he should get the punishment he deserves. What to do in such a situation?

    Hello,

Well, this is a punishable offense. No body gives hi the right to come ro office drunk and salpped a staff member. This thing should never be tolerated at all. If nobody dare to tell the boss then you should tell your boss about the incident and you should also inform the higher authorities about it. There is no romm for such behaviour at office. Drinking is prohibited at office premises so the person is in a serious situation.

People like these should be sacked at once but the funny thing is they are the ones who get promotion regularly.

    Bye,

    Hi,
As you mention that he is drunk and slapped one office clean boy, so this is not normal day for you. You need to take some urgent and good action so that your colleague get some punishment. Its not easy task for you because you also mention that he have some relation with your boss, but i am quite sure that your boss will take some action and appreciate you after you inform them.
Just directly discuss whole scenario with your boss and also mention that he is in drunk condition.

    Hey,

of course you all must tell to your boss. That, this kind of behavior is not tolerable. because by doing these bad things office atmosphere will be affected and other people can also do this.

and other people will also do this then office work will be affected so you must tell to your boss i hope he will understand your problem. and will take right action. and you must go in group so that no one can take this personally...

    Regards

This is a shameful situatuion for the company as this should never happen in any of the organisation.
As you said that colleague comes to the office drunk then the question is that who allowed him to come to the office in a drunk situation, as everybody knows that person who drink cannot handle himself in a good manner because the brain stops work or it not works in a good mannerso that these kind of things happen.
Sometimes the drunk person can also do the worse thing because he cannot handle himself.
So whatever he has done should be handled on the next day because at that time he is not in a condition to stand the how he will speak.
Next day he should be given a expellation or termination letter for doing that kind of thing because it is not expectable whether he is good or bad person because its against the humanity and rules.
So if he starts begging for the job then you need to ask for the appology letter for that thing and also he needs to write in that letter that if he again comes to the office in a drunk position then he will be terminated on the spot and he needs to sign on that as well with his name and employee code.
After that he will never repeat that again.
