    One of the employees is making false excuses of being sick and thus taking leaves everytime

    I am the manager of a software company. It has come to my notice that one of the employees is making false excuses of being sick everytime and thus taking unnecessary leaves for the same. Some of the employees have seen him in the malls and parks at that time. What action should be taken against such an employee?

    Hello Friend,

    Software industry is not like any other industry. It requires a great skills and hard working ability to work in a software industry. It seems to me tht employee has no desire to work in a competitive environment where you have to execute your work on time. He lacks moral and ethical skills to work in a software industry. You should talk to him and seek clarification from him. He should be ashamed of his work. You can take disciplinary action against him for not being honest to his employer.

    In a profesional world there is no room for such person. The ball is on your court so you have to take some action against him.

    Hello..,

    You need to be strict at this situation. There are people who have a habit of taking undue advantage of the liberty given to them. If you are sure that the employee is taking unnecessary leaves, then you should ask for a medical certificate every time he asks for leave. If he fails to submit such , then some penalty should be charged. He will automatically reduce his number of leaves. You can also assign him extra work to be submitted on a given time interval so that he will think twice before asking for leave.

    Such a misconduct needs to be strongly condemned. However, instead of believing on others and going on hearsay, first you need to be sure that the employee is actually making a fool of the management.

    Nothing much can be done about the past, but next time when he seeks leaves from you, ask him to bring a medical certificate on his return. Be polished and tell him as a piece of concerned suggestion that it is not healthy for him to fall sick so frequently and advise him to go for a thorough check up so that he could know the actual reason for his sickness. Try to play smart with him and do not grant him any leave on an easy ground.

    Also, let him know in a very polite manner that so many leaves can actually bring his performance down and hinder his promotion and growth in future as well.

    Dear Aspirant,

    Every employee has got limited nos.of leave to utilize it.So it seems not possible to take frequent leave on the basis of sickness.However,when you have come to know the real case,you should not sanction his leave so easily as you were sanctioning his leave so far.When ever he applies for leave,ask him to enclose supporting paper related to cause shown for leave.Suppose,if he is applying leave on the basis of sickness,ask him to get medical certificate.This way the concerned employee feel uneasy to apply for leave.

    So this is the best way to control the employee going unnecessarily on leave.

    First of all you have to cut his pay for the holidays.Because of him work is suffering a lot.If you cut his pay then he will ask reason for it.If you tell him that your pay for the holidays is cut then he will come to the office every day.You are just bothered about the holidays,you don't want about the things he is doing by keeping holidays.so,tell him that his pay is reduced.If he don't listen to your words then remove him from the job and keep a new one.

    Hi,
    As you are manager of software company then you should take some urgent action regarding this matter because this type of incidents also affect other employee. Action would be related to something like this:
    1. Directly talk to him and say that other employee see you in parks and malls during your leave day, this type of things are not tolerated in future.
    Also told him that if still this type of incidents occur in future then you discuss this matter with you management team and they will decide
    I am pretty sure from above action he will get good punishment and had a fear of management team.

    One of the employee is making false excuses of being sick thus taking leaves everytime.This is very bad everytime giving false information to the office boss is indeed a crime, and injustice to the boss sanctioning sick leave toward the false application, though it is not known to the boss.Now few employees noticed to the Manager about his false sick application as the have seen the concerned employee in the malls and parks.

    Under the situation being a Manager of the software company should take a hard action regarding sanctioning sick leave.As a boss you must not allow sick leave till a responsible Govt.medical officer issue the medical certificate as well as prescription.He/she may go under sick leave giving letter, message about the sickness.But sanctioning of leave will be possible only on that time when he/she submit the authorised doctor's medical certificate mentioning his/her diseases.

    This is the common excuses taken by the employees to get the leave , it can be tried once or twice but when it becomes usual in the office then you need to take some strict action to stop such practices because its not a good thing that employees are taking the leave by giving the false excuses.
    I can give you one idea that will help you out because its very much important for your company that these practices should not become usual in your life so follow the things that i am saying or mentioning-
    You should keep a contact with a doctor for your companies employees reference.
    If any one is asking for the sick leave then you need to give him the card of the doctor to visit and also allow him the 50% discount on the checkup so that he should not feel insecure , i am saying this because many of the people are not sick but asking for the sick leave so they should be stopped for doing such things.
    You should also give them the instruction that if they not get checked up by the doctor he is refering then you will not give them the leave.
    After that if the employee is not sick then he will not go to the doctor and if he is sick then he will get the report with him and get the leave .
    I hope this will work because i have used this techniques and it has reduced the sick leaves inmy company.
