    One of the deserving employees wants a promotion otherwise he may leave the company

    I am the manager of a software company. One of the deserving employees of our company has told me that he wants a promotion soon otherwise he may be forced to leave this company. We too, would love to promote him but canít do it right now due to some financial constraints. What can be done in such a situation as we donít want to lose him?

    In this situation you need to give him some kind of assurance, otherwise he would leave
    Please note that each employee wants growth for himself both in terms of Posts and Money
    Also if that employee is doing so well and is very important for your company than you would have to look at his interests
    Good staff who have knowledge and skill sets always have offers from different companies
    Also note that if you would not give him promotion and he leaves than you have to hire a new staff and its possible that you would not get a replacement cheaply
    So its better to look into his case and give promotion to him

    Hello Friend,

    Well, in a situation like this there is very little alternatives in your hand. You should talk to the management and ask them to take into consideration that person's promotion very seriously otherwise he will leave the company. It is up to the management to decide whether to give him promotion at a cash crunch situation or leave it to him so that he can take decidion based on his free will. You should also talk to the person and try to convince him about the real life stituation at office. These days hard working employyes are hard to find so i am afraid unless you do something the person will leave the company in a matter of time.

    Hi,
    According to me, if that employee complete the clause of increment policies of your company then differently he/she deserve the promotion. But as you are manager and write now due to some financial problem you are not able to give him promotion, its ok ....but you can do 1 simple and easy step:
    1. Just talk that employee and decide the increment and say him that right now due to financial problem we can not promote you but we give you a written document that after few days/months we will give you promotion.
    So in this manner your employee also have satisfaction and you will also not lose him. Because from above solution you do a great job from your side as an manager.

    Dear Aspirant,

    It is true that every employer wants a good employee in order to manage the official works smoothly.It is also not so easy to get intelligent & devotee employee.Since you too are interested in giving promotion,but due to some financial constraints,you are unable to sanction the promotion.In this case you can do one thing.You can sanction him interim hike in salary so that the employee remains with you.You can mention in the sanction order that your promotion is under consideration & till sanction of your promotion to next higher post,you are sanctioned Rs.500/1000/1500/2000/ as the case may be ,may be sanctioned his interim benefit per month.The arrears since the date of sanction of interim benefit.

    To my mind,the above way is the best way to retain the employee with you.

    When you know he is deserving candidate for the promotion then why not he is getting the promotion, when you are saying that he is deserving then he also know the same thing and then why not he will quit when not getting the promotion after doing so much hard work.
    I am completely against the policy of the company to not give the promotion to the deserving candidates who always like to get the promotion for the work.
    Why the company always sacrifice these employees because they need to give the promotion and increment.
    If you loose a hardworking employee then to generate the employee like him you will take more time and that will be the toughest time for you to do the same.
    So all my suggestion is to give the promotion and the increment as well to the candidate who deserve it not to those who always polish your *** to get the promotion.
    So try to judge the people first and then allow them the things to get.

    Sir deserving and employees who are in consistent in their performance and never gave you the chance for anything against them then they really deserve for promotion and promotion is something that gives motivation and internal encouragement to the employees to work more and on time for the organization and company depends on them because they are performing better so company gets more work and complete on time so they are the reason of huge profit of the company so your company should think about it and not only that but also there are some others then you should provide them promotion so you will a wanted improvement in the profit after some time

    If your company is facing financial problems then this is the time when each and every single employee should understand that problem about the financial circumstances of the company because they are the part of the company so they should know about the financial roots of the company and if employees are happy in your company and dedicated towards the advantage then they will definitely understand the current situation and will never demand for promotion or hikes until the financial problems gets solved so you should call all the employees in a personal meeting where you have to share this thing to all that company is not getting enough profit that is why we are really sorry to say that we can not give any hikes and promotion to any employee until this problem solves and if you all will cooperate with us then we would fight this situation and take our company out of this danger and I hope you all will understand about it and I promise to you all that if you be with the management and dedicated some more time then I will personally gives you hikes and promotion who will perform better in this situation

    All employees will understand this problem and not ask you for promotion and you should personally call that employee who was demanding for the promotion and make him understand about it and give him some time according to your judgement and surely he will understand because he know that company may face this type or hurdles in the way of competition and when you see that financial status are good then give him promotion
