Is it ok if I pay the amount instead of the serving the one month notice period?

Hi I am Santosh and working as an senior lab technician in Apollo hospital. I have been working here from past 2 years and now I have got an opportunity to work as nurse in Kasturba medical college. They are asking me join immediately and I have to serve 1 month notice period in this organization. Is it ok if I pay one month salary instead of serving the notice period? Please suggest.

Hi. I think it depends upon the rules and policies of your company. If they are willing to accept your 1 month salary in exchange for your serving the notice period then its certainly very good for you and you should do it.

But if your company doesnt agree then you can persuade them by telling that you have to join your new job immediately and thus are forced to do so. They will surely listen to you.

For more clarity contact your company officials. Best of luck. Thanks

s, it will be fine to pay the amount instead of serving notice period, if you are getting good opportunity in some other organization. It will also help you as you will receive your experience letter from your current organization. There is no problem with that, whether you serve notice period or pay the lieu amount to the company as you both will be benefiting with the same.
    I appreciate your good decision.

    Hi Santosh,
Please speak to your current organisation's HR and request your immediate relieve and mention about your intention of paying notice period amount.
Hope in your current lab technician role they would agree if you are paying notice period amount. Please check your appointment or offer letter ,sometime companies mention that either you have to serve 1 month notice period or need to pay the notice period amount in lieu.If that is the case then submit your resignation and pay the notice period amount to process your relieving letter. In between check with your joining company HR if they can buy your joining period which most organisation does if they have to fill the immediate requirement.
Still if your current company HR does not agree about your payment for notice period then please speak to your joining company and seek 1 month extension for joining date, as they will consider in this type of scenario.

    Hi,

Company has to decide on this . Because your one month productivity is not equal to the profit of the company .You work is highly valued than the one month salary . If you leave the company immediately company cant replace the position with some other immediately and all the works will stay pending which inturn affects company revenue and name . Company has to advertise for the vacancy of the position and after recruitment only that place is filled by some other . So this is the reason company asks for the notice period . So its not possible to pay salry and leave the company .. Still you can try it

    Thanks @@@@

    • It generally depends upon the company whether they have any policy regarding this or not.
    • Many companies may not accept your salary in lieu of notice period of one month.
    • It will not only the monteary loss for them but also the their working loss.
    • Many works becomes pending when you leave the company and it can't be compensanated by the one month salary.
    • You need to contact the HR of your company and ask him the rules regarding this matter.
