Not being paid for the accommodation provided by the company

I am working in a software company in Delhi. I have joined my job recently and thus asked for an accommodation from my manager. My manager provided me with an accommodation but is not ready to pay me for the same. I think the company itself should pay for my accommodation. How to come out of this situation?

    Hi friend

Your company should definitely pay you for your accomodation which has been provided by your company itself. Most of the companies pay their employees for their accomodation if they are not locals and have come from far away. So I think your company should do the same. But you should definitely check the rules and policies of your company regarding this matter. After checking the rules, if they are in your favour, you should definitely go and talk with your manager again.

Tell him that you have been provided an accomodation by the company and are really very thankful to the company for it. But you are not being paid for the same as mentioned in the rules and policies of the company. So you hope that he will look into this matter and thus give you what you deserve being an employee of this company. You hope that you will get justice in this case.

I am sure your manager , if persuaded in this manner, will definitely comply with your wishes, otherwise you go and complain to the higher authorities. Good luck

    Hi friend,

As you are saying that you have been posted to delhi.

It is the responsibility of the company itself to take care of your accommodation.

In your call letter or offer letter they might have mentioned each and every allowances that they offer you.

So please go through it, and if you are mentioned in it.

Then you can definitely ask your manager to provide the accommodation and pay for it, as it is mentioned in your offer letter.

Take some time and talk politely to your manager.

Explain him the situation in which you are in to and ask him to help you out.

If you talk to him politely definitely the problem would be solved.

HOpe i have helped you in getting relevant information.

    All the best

    Thanking you...

    Hello Friend,
IT industries does not entertain providing these free accommodation facility .there are few who provides for a week to the new joiners and those who come taking transfer till they search a home and then they have to leave the company accommodation.
some even provide accommodation or hostel facility till the training overs and they charge nominal amount for that.but yeah they reimburse the one time settlement money towards house rent luggage transfer...etc and you can claim it once you complete your training successfully.
so dont be in a wrong idea that company will provide you free accommodation that only provided by govt firms not in private organizations.
    thank You

    Dear Aspirant,

It seems your company is not well up to the mark.In general, the salary includes the basic pay, dearness allowances, house rent allowances, medical allowances, transport allowances etc.You should have got a offer letter which contains all the details pertaining to the salary & total emoluments to get if you accept this offer letter & join the job.If yes,you should go through the same.If you have not got any offer letter or any terms & conditions of the services, you can't do any thing except to try for another good job.

So be there at the mercy of the company till you get another good job.

    Thanks & good luck.

    Ashok..
