    Not able to communicate effectively with my colleagues

    I am working in a leading software company in Delhi.I am a native of Madras and thus my English is not too good. So as a result, I am not able to communicate effectively with my colleagues and also no one in our company knows my native language. I am really facing a big problem due to this. What to do in such a situation?

    Communication skills is the most important factor in professional world.Without this it is very difficult to achieve success in professional life.Thus you have to improve your communication skills.The problem of yours is understandable which is a common problem since the pronunciation techniques of a South-Indian is quite different from that of a North-Indian.Here are certain tips for you.

    -You can go for spoken english classes.
    -You can undertake courses in various communication institutes.
    -You should read various books on communication.
    -You must develop listening skills and try to understand what others want to convey.
    -Make an attempt to increase your vocabulary by reading news papers and other sources.
    -Use words and language that others can understand and relate to.
    -Make eye contact while communicating with others.
    -Your body gestures and facial expression should be synchronized with your words that you are speaking.
    -You can also find jobs close to your native place as well.
