    No mention of a stipend by the company during training

    I recently got placed through campus placement for a 6 months training. The company hasnít mentioned anything about giving a stipend during this period. Should I ask for one because I am working as a full time employee and hence I deserve a stipend?

    Hi friend

    Giving a stipend to the trainess depends on the policies and regulations framed by the company and such things vary from company to company. Some companies give stipends to the trainees during the training period but others dont. Mostly local companies provide you with a stipend but if you take up training from a distant place then they wont provide you with a stipend. And also you should know that you are not an employee of the company until you get a permanent job here after your training period is over. Most companies now-a-days ,due to the recession phase , select only a few employees from the trainess and the others are left out.

    So you should not worry about such things at this stage of your career and try to concentrate more on your performance. Dedicate your selves fully to your work and put in as much effort as you can. Your company wants this from you and then you will be able to become a permanent member of the company. At this time your goal should be to get a permanent job in this company if you are satisfied with the pay, growth and the working conditions.

    Also if you are so worried about the stipend, you should go and talk to your HR and I am sure he will clear all your doubts. He will tell you that whether they provide the trainees with a stipend or not and the reason for the same.

    Hi,

    Yes,you should ask for stipend.
    Its your right.
    Generally the companies try to take undue advantage of the employees by making them work full time and not paying them anything.
    By doing so,they are getting their work done for free.
    You have the every right to ask for the stipend.
    Contact your manager along with other employees and ask him to give some incentives and stipends.

    Suggestions----->
    * If you are recently hired to the company so do not ask for such stipend.
    * I think you must gain few experience before asking for any such facility.
    * You must focus on the work and performance.
    * You must be dedicated towards the company goal.
    * Thus having a experience your facilities will definately increase.

    Dear Aspirant,

    Generally it is mentioned in the offer letter regarding the emoluments that you will receive in your training period & after its completion.You must have got it cleared before joining the comapny.It seems your company is not well established & reputed.

    However it depends upon the policy of the company that whether any amount is payable in training period or not.

    Now,since your are working as a regular employee & are in training period,you must ask the manager HR regarding your present stipend & for salary after completion of the training period.Otherwise you may be a great looser,because most of the comapny gives emoluments during the training period also & are clear in salary package to its employees in order to avoid any disputes between the employees & mangement.

    It would be better to contact the manager HR jointly with your colleagues if you have any of them,If not get it cleared alone.If you are not satisfied try to get another job.
