No increment being given by our Principal for the past 5 years

I am working in a government school. When I joined this school all the teachers were given regular increments after every 2 years. But for the past 5 years , our Principal has not given us any increment. She says that our schoolís reputation has gone down and thus no increment is being given to anyone. I donít think this is fair. What to do in such a situation?

    Hello friend
First of all talk to the other teachers about this problem. And find out that is they are also suffered from this problem or not it is happen to all of them than itís ok because yes some time the school are not able to provide you a regular increment at a particular time. But If it is happens only happens with you then itís a serious problem. Now what you have to do is that file a application against the principal and send it to your higher authority and tell about what problem you are suffered now. Give this application to your chairman, director and the management of your school. I hope that they will be taking a necessary step on this problem.
    Thanking you best of luckÖ.

In this case you should first discuss this among all the teachers
After this you should talk to the Principal about this again
If she does not agree to it than you should speak to the school Management about it

If nothing works out than look for jobs in other schools

    Hello..

Friend, as you are saying that your increment is not given to you , but the reason that your school principal is saying is also correct that if school reputation has gone down so it means that the number of students are also going less so the amount of money is also going less so that's why he is not able to give you the increment . Try to understand this thing he is not doing this desperately. Wait for a good time and make a healthy conversation with your principal about this and try to find out the solution about this problem and this will present you as a good employee in front of your principal and he will surely do something as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

Dear friend here you have mentioned you are working in a Govt.School and your Principal is not releasing increment for the last 5 years.I mean doubt in Govt concern salary/increment /leave etc is available automatically as far as scale and other things is stipulated by the Govt.rules.And nobody can stop your increment as mandatory way(without offencive fault).

You the fellow employee should be united and raise hue and cry against the principal go to state's education director
and lodge complaint against the principal who is not sanctioning your increment showing lame excuses that our school's reputation is going down so you will not get increment. Is it possible in a Govt.concern sir you help us we are in distress to maintain our family.

If you take action Unitedly then sure your movement will be successful.

    Thank You,

    Hi aspirant

I can definitely understand your problem and thus completely sympathise with you. But you should also try to understand this from your school's point of view. I am sure as your Principal has told you , there would certainly be lack of funds in your school due to which they are not being able to give the desired increment to the teachers. I know that 5 years is a very long time but you should also look at the trauma that your school management is undergoing due to their decreased reputation.

You should go and talk to your Principal once again and ask her that till when they are expected to get the increment and that what all can the teachers do in bringing back the reputation of the school. If she gives you a proper reply then all the teachers should definitely try to help your school in these bad times. Otherwise if her reply is not satisfactory and weird then its better that you start thinking of leaving this job and joining another good school.

I hope that you get my point. Good luck and Thanks

    Hi,

Please check the appointment letter you have received...In most of the Govt Organisation pay scale systems are there and that is fixed by Govt at the time of appointment...Hence the increment will happen in that manner only...however as per your question it seems that you are not falling in that catagory and that is why the increment is not regular...

You can discuss the issue with the principal as cost of living is going on and you have to sustain with that...hence a nominal increment should be given, may be not every year but once in a two year...

There is no harm to discuss the issues....

    Good luck.

    Hello Aspirant,

Really it is very sad news that you have not been sanctioned your annual increment in your salary for the past 5 years. As per rule the employees in govt.sectors are eligible to get annual increment @ 3% of the sum of basic salary & grade pay every year on the 1st July.Go through the resolutions published by the concerned govt.for sanctioning of dearness allowances, increment etc in order to be aware of the provisions for your benefits.

If the performance in the school has come down, the concerned principal is also responsible for it & in this condition, she should not get her annual increment. So make a joint representations or individual representation & submit to the higher educational officer probably block educational extension officer or district educational officer or district superintendent of education.Even if you don't get relief, send a copy to the director, education.

Your problem may be solved at the earliest.

    Good luck.
