Dear aspirant. . .according to me asking for promotion is not professionalism. . .i would like to congrag you for staying in the same company for six years successfully. . . If you do any more degree after joining the job you can make it notified to your company higher official and ask for salary hike . . .promotion is one given to you based on your performance in company. .pl do not get confusion. . .you may left the choice to your official authorities regarding your promotion. . .

    Hello

Well it may be a double edged sword for you. They might feel that you are confident and responsible enough to handle this post or the opposite might happen.

If you are a positive thinking person then you should go for it. And 6 years of experience is really good. You are really experienced and confident so i hope you get the job.

Normally you should have got the promotion by this much time but i think the post of manager wasnt empty and no higher post was also available so they were not able to promote you. As you should have got promotion a lot earlier plus a increase in your salary.

And its the responsibility of the company to promote you still if you are that confident then go ahead.

    Thank you

    Hi Aspirant,
This is not a right way to tell to higher authority directly for our promotion or leave.
This is not a perfect manner , you can ask this about to Senior members or team Leader.
They will surely help you in all manner. if you face some problem to our Seniors then you can go to
higher authority, but this is the last step from your side, firstly you will try to talk about to team leader.
    thanking you!!!!
    Best of Luck.

Hi friendAs far as i am concern that most of the government or private organisations's the promotions policy is based on time period rather, exellent effort or overall performance of an employee. But in my opinion the promotions and increments should strictly be based on performance appraisals rather be time period. As There are various appraisal formats those show the promotion critaria. You should concentrate on your work because your heigher employee or hr is analyzing your work so for a little time you should not write any letter regarding promotion matter. All the best.

Re: Should I ask for promotion or leave it on higher authorities?

    hi friend,

Its good to hear that you have been working in the same company for the past 6 years.

I think its the time for you to take one step forward in making your future bright.

As you said that it have been since 6 years you haven't got promoted, you can definitely ask for your promotion to your higher officials.

And you are saying that you think yourself as eligible for that post, your self confidence shows that you will definitely work out the things and make the manager seat for you.

If there have been higher official above you then you can leave the decision for the higher officials but you being the assistant manager can definitely go for the post of manager.

Before talking to the higher officials look for these and approach them:-

    1. make the list of your previous achievement past 6 years.

    2. make the list of projects that you have handled.

    3. make all the stuff that made you successful and present that before your higher officials making them think that you are eligible for the post of the manager.

    ALL THE BEST.

hope you get appointed as the manager of the company.
