My Company has taken hold of my residence visa and they are not returning

I was working in US for an Indian company. They had sent me on a project of 2 years. During this period I found better opportunity in abroad. I spoke to my manager about this and told them that I am resigning from this company. Future company is asking for residence visa to extend my stay in US. My present company has taken hold of the same and they are not returning. What should I do? Please help.

    Dear Aspirant,

Because you are in abroad, you can not do any thing more except to manage your affair.Continue your job in the present company till you get your residence visa.Meanwhile try to manage the manager to get the same.Meanwhile you can ask for extension of joining period for the new job stating the same problem. If you have any support with any official, try to get approach from the official concerned to get the same.

    Thanks.

Hi. I dont think you can do anything about this until you are abroad. You have to come back to India if you want your visa back.

Or the maximum you can do is that contact your current company's any official or colleague who is a good friend of your and tell them to please do something to get your visa back.

You can also ask the new company about your present situation and ask them if they can give you some more time. If they want you they will surely help.

    Best of luck. Thanks

    Hi aspirant

You should certainly take some strict action against your company and get your visa back. Your company has no right to hold your visa. Its your choice which job you want to join and which to leave. They are no one to dictate terms to you. If you have got a good opportunity abroad you should certainly avail it.

So what you can do is ask one of your family members or relatives in India to go to your company's ofice and tell them to give your visa back. If they dont understand politely ,file a case against them. They should certainly be taught a lesson . Complete all your formalities of leaving the previous job and then go and join your new job.

Good luck friend. Dont miss this opportunity at any cost as such opportunities come once in a lifetime. Keep your new employers informed about your progress regarding the visa and be in continuous touch with the.

    Good luck and Thank you

    Hello Friend,
as you are in abroad with the expense of company and company facilitates everything in abroad ,so if you leave the job inbetween company will be in loss.not only you many candidate do the same thats why company take possession of some of your important documents like visa, passport etc..such that if you want to leave in between you wont be able to do.
apart from that if you leave in between the current business wll hamper company trust an employee and then they send them onsight by leaving job it will be a great disaster for the company.
so better you stick to the job and talk to the other company management to give you time to complete your work with the company.
then you can leave the job and join the other one ,no issues.
    Thank You.
