Misbehave of a junior female employee to senior female employee and no action taken yet

We have a receptionist who is under qualified and very ill mannered while talking to staff people. Recently it happened that she misbehaved with one of our senior female employee but no further action took place. Please guide me regarding the HR norms that what could be the correct actions against this?

    Hi friend

The receptionist should certainly be punished for misbehaving with a senior female employee. She certainly needs to be taught a lesson in manners and should l;earn some moral values. She certainly needs to understand her responsibilities and behave in a proper manner. Firstly she is underqualified for the post and thus is not eligible for it. Now the employers have been generous enough to give her the job , so she should realise that its her responsibility to take good care of that job and do whatever she can to be a good employee.

So you should make her realise her mistake and to improve her manners and behaviour , and to learn how to behave with seniors. There are no fixed HR norms for such misbehaviour but they vary from company to company. But a few punishments can certainly apply to her. She should be called to the HR's or the manager's oficre and reprimanded for her mistake. She should be asked to accept her mistake and never to repeat it in future. Also she should be warned that if the next time she repeats such a grave mistake, she should be punished for it.

I think everyone should be given a second chance. But if she still keeps her haughty behaviour intact and doesn't mend her ways, then she should be either removed from her job or should be banned temporarily so that she realises her mistakes. Also the manager should tell her that she is underqualified for the post but has still been given the job, so she should be grateful to them rather than misbehaving with the employees.

I am sure she will learn her lesson. Good luck

    Hi,

There are some rules and regulations of each and every company and every employee should follow it.
Basic etiquette and respect to the seniors is a must.
If you don't know how to behave with your Seniors, then you have no right to stay in the job.
You should complain about this to your manger and ask him to take very strict actions against that receptionist so that no other employee try to repeat such acts.

    Bye

    Hi......,

    HR Norms---->
    * Misbehaving is a serious issue in HR.
    * A person can not hurt any one while talking.
    * A person can not make any irritating act while communicating.

    Suggestions----->
    * You must prepare a complain letter .
    * In complain letter you must wrote name of all person who want to complain.
    * Do not prepare separate letter of same complain.
    * You must ask for fast resolution.
    * Submit this letter to manager and board of directors.
    Wait for response

    Thanks

    Hello !!

if the receptionist is under qualified than how she got the post in the company ??
receptionist is the mirror of the company and if she will have bad impression than overall company will suffer.
because people before comming to the company approach the receptionist first and the to the company.

and if she is misbehaved than as a HR of the company you have right to ask her about the reason and also you have right to deduct her payment for the same.
and even you have right to terminate her as she is under qualification and also misbehaved.

so give her warning and then tell her about the consequences if she repeat this kind of action
and also let her ask sorry from that particular lady to whom she urged.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting.

    Hi friend

Such kind of behaviour should not be tolerated and that junior female employee should certainly apologize to the senior female employee for her misbehaviour. She should learn to behave when she is working somewhere as she is mature enough to learn that. Also if this is the manners that she possess, then what will she teach to her children. I think she should certainly be made to realize the gravity of her actions and how harmful it can be for her future.

As an Hr, you should call her to your office and tell her that if she misbehaves with another employee fromnow on this will straightaway lead to her termination and thus she will have to pay heavily for her misbehaviour. You are not going to tolerate any of her ill manners now. And then you also call that senior female employee and ask her to apologize to the senior for her mistake.

This I am sure will make her realise her mistake and then she will automatically improve from now on. Good luck

    • Misbehaving of any employee with an another employee is not good for any company as it have impact on the outcome of the company.
    • So, properly solving the issue is very much necessary.
    • You should call both the employee, give them a chance to put their point of view.
    • If you found that junior employee has misbehaved then should have warning notice, giving her a last warning (if haven't given earlier).
    • Since she is an receiptionist, it's necessary for her and the company to behave calmly, politely otherwise it gives a bad impact of the company infront of employees.

    hello,
    well HR norms are:
1-do not misbehave with any client
2-being a junior member he should not talk to a senior member in this way
3- at professional places, the dignity of senior and junior should be maintained
4-take good care of her job, personality and behaviour.

receptionist had to be subtle in any condition with her words and personality.

    Goodluck
