Mentioning the reason for leaving the last job in the resume

I recently left my previous job and now am searching for a new job.The reason for my leaving of my previous job was that my manager was harassing me for reasons best known to him. Now should I mention that in my resume? If yes where should I preferably mention the same?

Dear friend you must not show such statement in your resume.According to your statement you had left the job due to Manager's harassment. If you mention such reason then New company may take this otherwise in the sense if you are recruited by the new company then also you can behave such a way.To the company just you are a new employee they will never like to hear odd about your previous employer.

So, to get wheightage you can show other reasons which will focus your merit only, everywhere truth is not necessary this truth neither save you nor encourage your new employer so never shout saying that previous employer tortured on you.Just you can mention as previous employer, and reason is not mandatory if they ask to know the reason of leaving that company, just you can say company's environment is not conduceive for me to continue the service.

    Thank you,

    Hi friend

I think that you should certainly mention the reason for your leaving of your previous job in your resume. You should not be afraid of not mentioning it. If you have been wronged in your previous company and that was the reason for you leaving the job, then you should certainly mention it in your resume otherwise the others might think that it was your fault due to which you had to leave your previous job. I will certainly advice you to mention this reason in your resume. But if you dont want to do it, then you can mention it to the interviewer when he asks you the reason about leaving your previous job.

Now as for mentioning the reason, you should mention it under the place where you are mentioning the details about your previous company . Just mention the reason below that. You should not send wrong signals to the interviewer by not mentioning the reason. Rather you should keep yourself in a safe zone by mentioning it.

I hope you understand it. Good luck friend

Re: Mentioning the reason for leaving the last job in the resume

    Hey!
I am sorry to hear that you had to leave your previous job because of problems such as harrasment faced by you. Such situations are definitely unfortunate but I am sure that you will prove your mettle by doing well in the next job. The best part is that you raised your voice against the injustice that was being done to you and hence choose to leave the job for the same reason. It needs a lot of courage to do the same.

As far as mentioning in your resume the reason behind leaving your previous job is concerned, you should refrain yourself from doing this. Your resume is primarily a very formal document. A resume doesn't contain details as to why you did something. It just highlights whatever you did. So just mention the duration of your previous job and the post that you held in the same. You should mention the reason for the same in your resume. A resume is best written as a very precise one to one a half page document.

Incase the interviewer asks you the reason for leaving your job then you should mention mal treatment as the reason. Refrain yourself from delving details of how you were harassed etc. If you do so the people interviewing you will feel that if today after leaving your job you can talk ill about your previous employer then tomorrow you can talk ill about them as well. At the same time do not lie as to what the reason was. I also believe that a good interviewer would not delve deeper into the details once you mention mal treament as the reason. You should already prepare this answer before going for the interview so as to feel confident about it.

    All the best. Thank you.

    Dear Friend!

First of all there is no need to mention the reason in RESUME for leaving the job from last company "Why did you leave the job." Most of the employees leave the jobs and search new jobs due to several reasons. Your issues is genuine to leave the jobs from last company due to harassing you by your manager. But you should never mention such kind of issues in your RESUME. When your interviewer ask the reason to leave job, you should explain your last company's manager truth. Interviewer definitely will give decision in your favor.

On the resume, you dont need to mention the reason why you left the Previous job.
In the resume under the experience column, you just need to mention the from and to dates and also the name of the company.
You need to mention the Job role performed by you.

But in Interview they may ask you the reasons why you left the previous jobs, without having a new job.
Make sure that you should be very diplomatic in answering this question.
You should just not tell bad things about your previous boss and say that was the reason for you lewaving the previous company

Hello there, >> Whatever has happened there in the past, is really very disappointing. >> I would personally recommend you not to carry your experiences in future and not to share them if you don't need to. >> However, if the next job you are seeking into, asks you for experience, or needs to make you fill up a form as such, then you need not hide or lie, because you were not at fault anytime. >> You can be straight-forward, if needed. You'll definitely be understood. >> But take things as the situation demands. And I am sure, you will be smart enough to handle things by now. All the best. aman !
