Mechanic at my service centre is accused of removing the original parts of the vehicles that are coming for servicing

I own a service centre where both cars and scooters come for servicing. One of the mechanics that I have employed is accused of removing the original parts of the vehicles that come for servicing. I trust the employee because he has been working with me since the day I opened the service centre. On the other hand the customer who is accusing him is pretty sure. What steps should be taken by me to ensure that the reputation of my service centre is not hampered?

    Hello.

This is a very serious allegations against your mechanic and your service centre. You should
order an enqury to find out the real reason and the culprit behind this shameful act. If you find
your mechanic is guilty then you can always take actions against him on disciplinary ground. But
if you find out that it's a conspiracy to malign your company then you can take legal action against
    that person.

    Bye,

    Dear Aspirant,

It may or may not be true.In order to be confirmed of the matter, ask the mechanic confidently about the matter.Assure him not to punish him in case he accepts his mistake.By this means he may accept his fault. If he is not accepting his fault & if he is over confident of not doing such mischievous thing,it means the customer is in confusion. Also you have to see nos. of such complaints received so far.If it is the first complaint,it means the concerned customer is not sure of the case & the performance of your service centre won't be affected since it is not necessary to say that the customer is always right in his position.

So need not worry. The customer may not sue the matter in order to get compensation, because he has no any evidence for the same.

So confirm the matter with your mechanic & act accordingly.Even If he accepts it,save him now being the first time & get a bond not to repeat it in future, because if you disclose the matter, your popularity may be spoiled.

Hope you will manage the situation.

    Thanks & good luck.

please take appropriate action against him though he is senior work man cause the misbehavior of the work man should not reflect on your business badly.Discuss the issue with him in detail and point out his misbehavior and ask him to rectify the same. please issue a severe warning letter first and if he doesnt get realised or repented, better to remove him from the services no other way to keep the peaceful atmosphere and to maintain your customers to get good reputation in your service centre. Regards.

If the customer is sure that the original parts are replaced by a duplicate one than this is a serious matter. You must look into this matter seriously and take strict actions however old the employee is. This means that besides cheating the customers he is also cheating you from day 1. Ensure the customer that if such thing has happened than you will take strict action against the employee/ mechanic and will put the original parts back without any costing from the customer.

But first you must need to ensure that whatever the customer is telling is correct. Besides questioning the mechanic you must also question the customer about this. Ask him why do he feel that the parts are replaced by duplicate ones as you must be sure that when he gave you the vehicle for the service the vehicle consisted original parts. So try to cross question him and try to find out the exact scenario. As before you haven't heard such things from your customers so you cannot straight away blame your employee without properly investigating the matter.
