    Maternity leave being sanctioned only 2 months before the delivery date

    I am a female employee working in a software company. Our company sanctions the maternity leave just 2 months before the expected delivery date. I donít think this is fair as it is against the Maternity Act norms. What action can we take in such a case?

    Hi,

    I will suggest you to talk about this with the management.
    Show them what the Maternity Leave Act says.
    I am sure,if you are right,then the management will definitely increased the period of the maternity leave.
    So think positive and talk to the management regarding this issue!

    Hi buddy

    Your company should not go against the Rules created by the government and if they think that by doing so they can get away without being punished they are certainly wrong in their thinking. You should not directly take any action against them but talk to them firstly. Gather all the female employees at your workplace and go and talk to your management. Tell them that they are going against the Rules of the Maternity Benefits Act by giving the leave just 2 months before the date of delivery. If the people outside come to know about it then it would lead to a downfall in their reputation. Thus they should follow the proper rules. Also they would be punished for the same and may have to bear legal implications which would not be good for the company's image.

    I hope your manager understands you and thus mend their company's policies otherwise you would be forced to complain against them and this would teach them a good lesson for the future . Thus if they want to learn this the hard way its their choice and option but if they dont want to go the court then its their choice and thus they should accept your request.

    Hi.......,

    Before complaining make sure that--->
    * In companies contract if they had signed a bond that they can alter any holiday then you can not do any thing.
    * Check what type of holidays are mentioned in contract.

    Where can you complain--->
    * You can file a case against company not voilating companies act.
    * Then company has to face the defend charges.
    * You can also launch a complain in consumer court.
    * Before this you must ask for more holidays from company if due.

    Hi friend

    Your company should take care of waht they are doing as by going against the norms of the Maternity Act they can get themselves in legal trouble also. Thus you should have a chat with them and make them realise that what they are doing can lead to grave consequences afterwards. You should not let them do this as it is your company also and I am sure you have some attachment with it.

    Thus you go to your manager and talk to him. Tell him that according to the Maternity Act norms they should provide the maternity leave 3 months before the delivery date but as they are now providing it just before 2 months , this means they are leading themselves into grave danger and thus should tread carefully . They should not follow the wrong path otherwise they can get them in trouble . They should always follow the rifght path which will be god for the reputation of their companybecause once their reputation is destroyed, they will not be able to recover from its after-effects.
