Main difference between the letter of reference and letter of recommendation?

I want to get the recommendation letter for the job which I am going to apply by weekend but the problem is I am confused of which letter should I follow either letter of reference or letter of recommendation for my job? What is the main difference between them? and which letter to take for applying the job?

There is a big difference between letter of recommendation and letter of reference.
-Letter of recommendation is basically a letter to suggest recruitment of a particular candidate whereas letter of reference is basically to get more information of the candidate.
-Letter of recommendation is used by competent authorities which are in touch with the concerned organization doing recruitment whereas letter of reference is given by the candidate stating names of eminent person whom company can refer for enquiry about the candidate.
-Letter of recommendation is basically a suggestion letter for recruitment whereas letter of reference is a letter of guaranty of candidate's character which can be ensured from the person's names listed in the letter.

You should take both the letter. However, mentioning the contact details of reference persons in resume is enough in modern days rather than carrying a letter on their behalf.

    Hello,

There is a difference between letter of reference and letter of recommendation.
In case of letter of recommendation, it is to be noted that it contains informations
specific to the persons applying to the job for example college or university score
card, technical and other skills etc.

On the other hand letter of reference is general in nature. in letter of reference the
writer makes a general assessment of the candidate. Such letter is used when an
individual chracter is being assessed by the employer.

    Bye,
