    A lot of employees are smoking at our workplace, thus affecting the health of other employees also

    I am working in a government organisation. I have noticed that a lot of employees here have a bad habit of smoking at the workplace. They donít realise that it affects the health of the other employees also. How to prevent such employees from smoking inside the work premises?

    Yes dear it is very bad for the organization.smoking should be avoided at the workplace in the organisation.
    If some employee are doing this then first you should talk with them individually and ask them not to do this at the workplace.if they do not understand then you should make a complaint about this to your management.they will surely take action against it and your problem will be solved.thank you

    The higher authorities of the office should be cautious about it.Usually most offices are marked as " No Smoking " zones.So the employees who have the habit of smoking, smokes outside the office premises.This system should also be materialised within your office premises.The higher authorities has to be informed henceforth.They have to make necessary arrangements for the same.Smoking within the office must be prohibited as one caanot suffer because of the harmful habit of anyone else.

    Smoking is injurious health.This is a common fact which is known to all.Inspite of this the number of smokers are increasing day by day especially the teenagers.Not only they smoke but also the surrounding people are affected by it by becoming passive smokers.As a result on a whole,the number of smokers is more than 80 percent of the world's population.

    It is quite sad to know that some of the employees are smoking in the office premises of your organization without thinking about the other employees.Moreover,it is quite unusual that the higher authority is not interfering in this matter to keep the office premises clean and unpolluted to ensure proper working environment at the workplace.It is quite disgusting to see that neither the higher authority nor the concerned employees who smoke are concerned about their health as well as the health of other employees who do not smoke.

    -You all should try to solve this matter at your personal level before approaching the higher authority.
    -All of those who do not smoke have to be united to curb this situation.
    -First of all approach the employees who smoke.
    -Request them not to smoke in the office premises or keep a separate smoking zone in the office.
    -Tell about the problems faced by you all due to smoking.
    -Request them to cooperate.
    -If they listen and cooperate,it is fine.
    -If not,then prepare a petition against this issue highlighting all the negative points.
    -Submit the petition to the higher authority to seek a solution to this issue.
    -Request for a quick solution.

    Government of india has banned smoking in public places now if he does not that he will be punished for it at office you should have common sense to not to smoke he lacks decency respect and morals.its difficult to bear the smoking conditions if your non-smoker,it will affect you very badly because your most vulnerable for bad impacts of smoking than the person who is smoking.. You all should collectively complain against him or tell him to finish his smoking outside the office premises.. As an employee you should go to the manager and ask him to make no smoking zone in office premises any doing it will be liable for salary cut.. Mention it to your boss he will also be interested in the policy.. Its not about habits of others but its very dangerous for other employees as because it can give serious health problems and breathing problems also.. So never compromise on health issues...
