    Lot of employees being given promotions excluding me, inspite of being the best performer of the last year

    I am working in a MNC. Last year I was chosen as the best performer of the year. But this year when the company decided to give promotions to some deserving employees, I was shocked to see that my name was not among them. I don’t think this is fair at all. What to do in such a situation?

    Don't be jealous. Just work hard and follow your professional work ethics in work
    place. Let other people get their fair share. If you are good enough you will again be rewarded
    the best employee award in the next year. Just don't get dissapointed with the news. Life is
    filled with ups and down someday you will won and someday you will loose.

    Hello friend,

    As you said you did not get promotion, then you must need to work more harder.
    Since, you were best performer awarded candidate last year, it does not mean you are the same this year.
    May be you must have done something so well as you did it last year.
    Try to find out in yourself where you lack capabilities or that any change has come in your work as compared to your last year.
    Evaluate yourself and find out the mistakes in you to overcome them.
    work smartly and hardly to get the best outcome.

    Promotion is one of the topic of criticism.This topic revolves around every professional organization's sphere.To some employees it comes as a boon since they can enjoy it.But for those who cannot enjoy it,it comes as a challenge.If accepted and strive for it to fulfill it,it will heighten their career.On the other hand,if get depressed,it will be a cause of downfall in the career.

    There are various criteria for promotion.Among which consistency is the key factor.Moreover,the present as well as the past performance are taken into account before deciding the list of employees eligible for promotion.Along with this,qualification,requirement and the service that the employee can provide also counts for promotion.

    The same applies in your case.You might be doing well in the past but your present performance may not be upto the expected level.On the other hand,the other employees who got promotion might have put up a consistent performance.Hence they got the promotion.Moreover,the requirement for the promoted posts might be matching their skills.So you should not get depressed and accept it as a challenge.

    -Take it as a challenge and strive hard with your hard work and good performance to prove the higher authority wrong in their decision.
    -Make sure you do not leave any stone unturned or any loopholes in your service.
    -Consistency is the key factor which you should maintain.
    -You may also have a talk with your boss concerning the areas in which you have to improve.
    -Work upon those areas and give no chance of complaint to the higher authority.
    -You will find that after some time,you too will also get promotion.

    See,life is all about expecting the unexpected! This is not the time for sulking. It may be so that this time company did not feel that your work process was satisfactory enough to give you further promotion.Or the other reason can be,since you have been chosen as the best performer,further promotion might make you suffer from superiority complex and disrupt your work progress.This might be process to check your work consistency.Its better you keep your focus on your work,rather than thinking why you have not been selected for promotion.

    Just be happy not make yourself so depressed that you cannot do your work comfortably as if you think negatively then the problem start to exist in your life and one day you will not get that for which you were capable before so just forget the issue and work hard as well as smart becuase nowadays just working hard is not enough you need to playsome games for getting promotions and all that stuffs.
    As you said that you were the best employee of last year then it was a last year and promotion is given this year, if you think deeply then you will understand the reason for that.
    As you are thinking about the past so that you are unable to understand the truth that happened in present.
    After getting the award you just become happy and then you have taken the work lightly and these all things are measured by the managers and the team leaders and reported to the superior.
    So if you like to get the promotion then you need to make your performance consistent because if you are doing good work then you need to be on that level only and should not get down to that level because after that it will be hard for you to get up from there and the time will flew away once the time goes down then you cannot do any thing.
    So be consistent either go upto the marks or be on a same level.

    If you are not getting promotion in your job then you should directly talk to your manager about this because when you have been the best performer of the last year that means you deserve for promotion in future so you should go to your boss and ask them for the reason that why he did not shortlist you for promotion or increment in job and if they say that you will also get promotion in next round or soon then you should ask for the time that when you will get and also say that when you was selected me as the best performer and I tried to keep consistency in my performance and I am sure that there is no issue at all in my last performance then why did you do it with me only and provided to others and mention your sorrow to your boss so he will understand and think about your promotion and also say that I trust in you more than everyone in this company so you should be like that sir and provide me increment so they will understand it and solve your problem
