Liquor party in school farewell by the principal. Is this a right gesture?

I worked in administrative department of a secondary school. Every year we celebrate farewell for students being passed in 12th std. A very strange fact I observed this year that being a teaching institute, principal arranged a liquor party for the staff. Is this a right gesture?

    Hi, friend
i can understand your pain being as holy profession its not ethical to arrange the liquor party at the School
in front of the Student they are the tomorrows citizen of India .it lead them to wrong way.
As a teacher one should maintain high standrad in life specially in front of the Students try to convince the management about consequences of this act i think they take positive note on this

    Dear Aspirant,

It is a good culture to arrange a farewell party to out going students after completion of the 12th class education. This facilitate to get together to all the teachers & students. The teachers convey their well wishing to all the students for good future. Also the students give thanks to the teachers & principals for imparting good education & guidance to them. Also they thanks for the love & affection given by the principals & teachers.

Of course the liquor should not be allowed in the school, because it is a place of learning, place of MA Saraswati.

But in present time people use to have it in any occasion in a place where there is no photo or statue of God & Goddess. It gives rather freshness in mind when limited amount of it is used as per medical advice.

So need not worry. If you don't want to accompany,be away by pretending yourself.

    Thanks & good luck.

    Hello

Well this is definitely a wrong gesture.

Being an educational institution this should not be done.

Arranging liquor for the students of 12th std will affect students as well as the reputation of your institution.

Educational institution is a very sacred place and this kind of practice should be avoided.

You can discuss this matter with your principal and ask him not to practise this furthur.

    Thank you

    Dear Friend
You said that being a teaching institute, the principal had arranged for a liquor party on the farewell. But you also say that the party was for the staff members and not for the students. Then i donít think that it is entirely wrong for the principal to arrange for a liquor party for a group of mature adults.
Having said that i would like to further clarify that even if the party was for the mature adults, since it is a teaching institute, what message we would be giving to the students if they come to know about it? So i feel that on this point it was a wrong thing what the principal did.
You question seems to be trick and seems to be having both negative and positive sides to it. But the answer is really simply my friend. You see, alcohol by itself is not bad. The person who drinks it also does not become bad. Its just what evil ideas we have in our brains make us bad. So if a person who already has such bad things in his/her brain will only do bad things if he/she drinks alcohol.
As a teaching institute, the institute you are working in should educate the students on the above mentioned lines. Try to reduce the evil things from their brains and stop worrying about whether the principal did the right thing or not.
    Regards
    Sydney
