    Lewd remarks for gay working partners. What action can be taken?

    Recently, in the office party, some of the colleagues got drunk and passed lewd remarks over the company’s gay working partners. I want to put complain about this but my colleagues feel that it would create unnecessary discomfort. What should I do? Please suggest a way.

    Hello,

    It is really unfortune to come across this type of unwanted situations.You have mentioned that those who have passed such comments were drunk at that moment.This means that they have such mindset up for those gay partners,and that has come out while they were intoxicated.I think you should make a complain to the higher authorities,as they have no right to pass any such comment.They should be given a good lesson.This will be possible when you will make a formal complain against them.I think you should give justice to them.

    Its good to see your concern for everyone and you are definitely a morally sound person. You should definitely complaint regarding this incident to your boss and should get the guilty the deserving punishment. Your collegues should not have passed lewd remarks on the company's gay working partners after being drunk. They should have been responsible enough not to indulge in such behaviour and thus should have some sense not to talk about such things like the sexual orientation of any person.

    You should not listen to your colleagues and definitely discuss this matter with your boss. Tell him that recently, in the office party , some of your collleagues got drunk and passed lewd remarks over the company's gay working partners. They have no right to talk about such things and to pass such comments. They should definitely be punished for this behaviour and should not be spared otherwise it will be a bad example for others as well. You hope that they will look into this matter and will take proper action in this regard.

    well it is really sad that people still pass the comments of being homosexual. it is a god gift people should not pass lewd comments well but you shoyld not complain about that if your friend doesnt want that. it might create a issue. but from next time beware of such things

    Dear Aspirant,

    Of course your reaction to the situation is not bad.It is quite natural to react with such situation.Every one has own respects & no one should insult others.If so,the concerned persons must be punished otherwise such persons will continue doing the same thing.

    So you may first discuss the matter with your boss & as per his/her direction,move further,because if you go directly to police station,you may be in trouble for getting witness & support from others.But before making any complain,you may ask the concerned persons when they are in normal position,because there is a chance of conspiracy.

    hii friend,
    First of all salute to you to take a stand for your colleague. Putting up complaint would be a strong step against such low mentality people. You can comfort your friend and try to create a environment in the office in which they can feel equal to others in every way. An harassement related complain can be filed and actions can be took against them for defamation. But basically people would not get on the right track even after all this. You should try resolving the matter on your personal level, by explaining them the LGBT rights and trying to make them understand that its a normal thing.

    Often it happens when people got drunk and mostly in the parties, occasions etc. but first of all you should go to your colleagues and ask them that why they did that in the party and why you all were not respecting those gay employees, and they were happy in the party but you all did not let them enjoy the party because you are were drunk and in that mood you disrespected all those because this makes unofficial atmosphere in the company and really not good for the company's image and this will also effect your promotion chances in the company because you should not comment on anyone ever because this creates unprofessional environment and shows that how much employees are sincere and dedicated to the company because you have shown your attitude that what you are but if they say that they have done a huge mistake and should be sorry for that then you should not talk them anything and if you say that they will not understand anything then you should not go to them and directly complain to the manager about this and request manager to keep your information confidential and also take all gay employees to the manager and tell them complete situation then they will take a good action against all of them
