Legal actions against opening the software unethically by an employee

For billing of total sales in month there is a DMS software used to do the job. The operations manager is trained to do the work. This software canít be opened at any other place than office premises but somehow knowing the IP address the operations manager used the information unethically. Shall the employer fire him or not?

First of all try to get the reason behind why such act was performed by your manager.

This is really a serious matter and you have to investigate the reasons behind it as it is a matter of security of secret datas of your company.

Until and unless you get to the root of this act you won't be able to know the consequences that this act can cause.

Merely terminating the employee is not the complete solution of this problem.

You have to take some strict decisions to set an example but more importantly you must be sure about the security of such important datas.

You can also take help from lawyers specialized in IT act, they can more specifically help you in taking any decision.

Also you must device some measures so that such things doesn't happen in future.
