Well only thing you can do is learn to speak and understand Tamil as you are in selling department understanding your customer and making them understand as well is must.
For learning Tamil you can find a Tamil teacher in nearby school (as they are teachers so they can help you better),also you can find many sites on internet that can help you in learning Tamil where you can learn some words and sentences that you have to come across in day to day work.

    Hello Friend,

    Nothing to worry.

    Have patience.

Because you are in sale department and you have to deal with customers explaining him about the pproduct of the company.

Since you are not known to tamil ,you should politely ask the customer to ask you in english.

This way you can entertain the educated customer but in order to deal with an illeterate customer, you can have help from other employee of the same organisation.

hould have amotto to learn Tamil language as soon as possible.

It is not a difficult task.

You can do it in a month because books are available to learn Tamil from other laguages such as Hindi,English etc.

Because people enjoye listening to mother tongue

You should also be attentive to pick up meaning of the words spoken by the people..

    Best of luck.

In most of the cities every one can understand enlglish and Hindi.

So speak in english or Hindi. then they can understand because engligh is common language in the globe.

If they do not know hindi or engligh then you cannot do any thing.

Try to learn Tamil language briefly to explain about your product.

Provide material with all the details about your product.

    with their language .

    Thank You

As In india every state people uses different language as their mother tongue language. Therefore the language is the common problem for every people working. Difference in languages creates a communication barrier between two. As hindi is a national language and english is a widely accepted language so you must use both language in order to deal with customer as salesman. Apart from it, i also suggest you to learn Tamil language, it does not take too much days, you can easily learn if you work hard on that. Thanx.

    Hi friend

I think that you should try to learn Tamil so that you could interact with your customers well and thus get to know them better as your job is to sell things to them ..So to make your job a better and enjoyable experience rather than a burden on your shoulders you should definitely learn to speak and understand Tamil..

For learning to speak and understand Tamil i think you should try to find some institute for that in your nearby locality which expertises in such field...English courses are very common but i dont know about the Tamil ones..So if you cant find such a institute then try to take help from your colleagues who speak Tamil fluently..I am sure they will help you out..

    Good luck..God Bless

    Dear..

If you are facing communication problem then you have to learn either Tamil or join some other department of the company where you do not have to interact with the customer more. If you continuously work and do like this then it is harmful both for you and your company so its better to talk to the manager and tell him that due to this i am not able to deliver my 100% and please set me to some other place where i have to not to interact more with the customer.

Other solution is to learn basic tamil which you can easily learn and this will surely help you as in same kinda work daily you do not have to be proficient and you can easily handle the work with basic knowledge of tamil.

If not then you can also take help from English language which is widely spoken in many parts of Tamilnadu.

    Hope it will help

    Cheers...!!!

    Hello Friend,
Being in sales department you have to deal with costumer with different language so you cant complain about that .so if you dont understand then talk in english with your customer and ask them to use the same.however there are few customers you may face who dont know any language other than their so in these cases you can ask the sales person who can understand their language to help you.or you can ask him to translate them such that it will be easy for you.
but if you are gonna stay in that area for long then its advisable to try to learn tamil....if not so fluent then learn that much to deal with customers.
    Thank You.

    Hey!
The problem that you are facing is a very common one when people belonging to one part of india move to the other part to work. You should not be disheartened in such a situation because what defines your success in your job is how do you overcome the hurdles at each step. Whenever you encounter such a situation then you should tell (in English) the customer very politely that you do not understand tamil. Customers generally can make out from your appearance that you are not from south and hence language can be a problem for you. Hence English language can come to your rescue.
Make sure that you are very polite in your conversation in English and hence they would understand that your problem of not being able to understand Tamil language is a genuine one. Also another thing that you can do is that you can start learning Tamil language side by side by somebody who already knows it. This will help you to atleast understand the basic words or phrases that are used in the lanaguage. This can be very helpful in situations where your customer doesn't understand english. You can make do with just the basic knowledge of the Tamil language.
Learning is very important at every step of one's life and it is good to learn a new language. You can take your time with the language. It will also help you know more about the culture of the state. All the best. Do very well at your work.

First request the customer that whether he is comfortable to speak in the language which you are comfortable.

Many of the customers will say okay for this.

If they know your language, they will communicate in that language.

So, what I suggest you is to learn Tamil quickly.

You are not supposed to learn all the Tamil language.

Just practice your day to day conversations with customers in tamil language.

Then you can manage Tamil also very easily.

As it your job and the people are Tamil people,

definately you have to communicate with them only in Tamil.

The only solution for your problem is to learn Tamil.

There are some institutes to teach you Tamil.

In addition there are self learning books for Tamil,

You can also try for them.

    It is your job.

You should be strong enough in Tamil to continue on your job.

There are 2 things that I can suggest from my side.

First one is, leave the job and choose the job where there is no these kind of problems.

Do this only when the job is not much important for you.

Second one is, try to learn tamil as quickly as possible.

Then you can do your job well.

Do this if job is utmost important for you.

    You can learn Tamil by

    Books
    From Coaching Institute also.

All the best for your job.
