    Lack of clarity in company’s method for writing annual appraisal for employees

    The human resource department on record has always stated that behaviorally anchored rating scales(BARS) are used. The process rates the employee’s behavior during work and deadlines. This year, I have been marked with low ratings for my in-house personalities and habits. I have been issued a show cause letter for the same. I am worried as my long pending promotion will be at stake. Please suggest what I should do.

    Dear aspirant company's appraisal letter has the vast importance and opportunities are involved with the good appraisal if you receive an appraisal which is merit less then it is better not to show anywhere because it will carry negative marks.So friend whenever you think or receive such a lack of informative appraisal due to your past performance.You should do better performance as you know company keep bad idea about you,so during working time always keep friendly relation with all and you should inform your boss about the past odd doings and not to take any odd action because your future is entanallygle with the appraisal ans do request to perform better appraisal and also inform about your very good services to the company.Then decision may change dramatically and you will receive appraisal up to the mark.

    Hi buddy Taking tension and worrying over this matter is not going to help you at all. Rather you should try to introspect yourselves and see what your faults are. These annual appraisal policies are really a testing time for all the employees as the whole year behaviour and performance are judged and thus you are rewarded accordingly. Ofcourse everyone wants to taste success and no one wants to be on the negative side. So of course your worrying is genuine but it isnt going to help you as i told you earlier.

    Contact your HR for full details on your performance. Request him to tell you your shortcomings and how to improve upon them. Or if you know your mistakes yourselves then try to improve upon them and overcome your shortcomings. This is the only best way for you to show improvement and impress your emoployers.

    Give your all to your work and improve as much as you can. Improve your habits and i am sure you will be rewarded next year by getting more points and also appreciation from your manager.

    Dear Aspirant,

    You need not worry for getting a show cause letter. It is very common in a job. You must submit your reply defending yourself to the charges framed on you.

    You must continue your work with full enthusiasm and need not worry for promotion. If you are a good employee before the employer or management,your promotion cannot be denied. Try to sort out your weaknesses for job appraisal. If your junior is promoted first and you are free from any charges of corruption or inefficiency,you must represent to the management for promotion. Also you should see yourself that whether you are being ignored for promotion inspite of working well,you must meet the manager HR/CEO/MD of the organisation and explain your situation besides submitting a written presentation. In order to know this,you must be aware of the promotion policy of the company.
