Interviewer getting too personal in the interview

I have recently left my job and now looking for a new one. Actually I am a divorcee. Recently in one of the interviews , the interviewer got too personal with me and started questioning me regarding my divorce. I got frustrated and thus left the room in anger. Now I am thinking that I should not have done so. Did I do the right thing? Will this affect my future in any way?

    hi
you should not have done this thing, this had marked a bad impression on the interviewer.
Maybe you think that he was getting too personal. But this is generally not the case. The interviewer mostly target on the issues which are not very good to you. By doing that, they actually test your patience and will to take the criticism. They always have a specific reason behind the questions which they ask in an interview

Dear first of all i would like to say that you have not done good because this is not the identity of a good employee because that interviewer were examining your patience and you failed in that so this will definitely effect your future opportunities because you have not patience and you can not bear anything easily that is why you did that but in future you should be careful about this because you will mention about your marital status in the resume and interviewer will definitely ask about the cause of the divorce that is why you should prepare yourself well for interview process and when they ask you about this then you should tell them that you have been divorced because of some unavoidable circumstances and this is personal so i am really very sorry sir that i may not tell you the fact about this and they will understand your problem but if they force you then you should not run away from their in anger and answer them in a right way but do not tell a lie

    All the best

    Hello

There is a rule that personal life should not be mixed with the professional life.

There is a very thin line between both the parts and this should be understood and the lines should not be crossed.

If your interviewer gets nossy about your personal life then you should make it a point that you dont want to discuss about your personal life.

No matter what is going on in your relationship may be good or bad you should not let it affect your career.

you have to be strong and and maintain the point that you are uncomfortable discussing your personal matters.

Do not leave the room during the interview instead you can mention that you are not comfortable with this.

    Be polite and patient.

    Thank you

    Hello Aspirant,

The individuality differs from person to person. It is human nature, environment & situation prevailing with the person to behave badly or properly.Since you seem not happy with the incident happened with you in past & it is quite natural to be so,because the anger makes person do any thing & later the concerned person regret for the same.

Of course you should have controlled anger at the time of interview. The action showed by you reflects that you lost your patience. You should have replied the question politely & in short.

So past is past & try not to repeat it in future otherwise you may feel difficult to find job.

    Thanks & good luck

Re: Interviewer getting too personal in the interview

Self realization is the key factor to achieve success in your life.Without it,it is very difficult to know what are the mistakes you are doing and what are your shortcomings and how you should improve in those fields to achieve success.Although you did not do the right thing in leaving the interview room like that but it is good to see that you have realized that you did not do the right thing at such an crucial time and thereby ruining your job opportunity.
First of all,I would like to say that you did not do the right thing by leaving your job like that. You should have found a better alternative before leaving the job. This would have ensured your continuous employment and professional career.Try to follow this from next time otherwise you may have to repent for your decision of leaving like that. Coming to your query, positive attitude is essential in the professional world to handle the huge amount of tension, pressure and criticism that is common in it.You should have tried to understand the positive direction of such kind of questions from the interviewer. You should have thought that in future you might have to face such type of situation in the professional world in future and hence the interviewer was just seeing how you react to it and how well you can adjust to this sort of situation. Hence, such type of acts of yours is really unexpected in that scenario. You should have remained calm, take the matter in a professional manner and deal with it professionally. You should have tried to give the answers calmly without losing temper or breaking into emotions and should have tried to mould or divert the topic of discussion to some other matter rather than behaving in such a way.Try to follow this in future and I hope you will definitely attain great success.

    hii,
well this is little common problem. but you should have answered it once and straight forward so that he may not ask you the questions again. and that is your personal matter if he was getting that much personal that you left the room then dont take it as guilt.
next time keep this in mind and dont get aggressive rather face the situation and reply them strictly so that he may not ask you afterwards about it.
    thanks:
