    Improper cooling facilities at our workplace during the summers is leading to dissatisfaction among the employees

    I am working in a private firm. Everything at our workplace is quite good except for the improper cooling facilities during the summer months. This has led to dissatisfaction among most of the employees and we are planning to take this matter to the higher authorities. Will this be the right step? What to do in such a situation?

    Well, yes you can always go to the higher authorities for issues such as Cooling facilities at work place during summer time. Summer in india is a different story with tempararure rise almost 50 degree celcius to some places. A proper cooling particularly air-conditioning is required at workplace for the comfort of the employees. Without proper cooling employees will not able to give the best at work place. You should write to the higher authorities and request them to install air conditioners at work place to give the employees much needed comfort during the summer time. Hopfully the authority will grant your proposal and install AC at work place.

    Yes, you should take up the matter to higher ups but it would be better that you talk in advance to your manager and hr department before you approach the higher ups as its only the water problem that you are facing it in the hot summer so you should go in number and convince your boss to install a water purifier and a cooling unit attached so that you might be relieved with hot conditions its a basic necessary thing that company management should definitely look in to the matter its not a costly affair as you should consider basic demands an benefits of employees.. You should collectively write a letter and in a proper format of requesting the proposal of setting up water cooler so that you can control the hot and extreme thirsty conditions within the company campus.. Hand over the letter in request format to the manager to the company or to the manager of the company send the carbon copy to hr department as well as all the demands of employees like basic requirement of water and nonofficial requirements are generally done in quick pace with the hr department only.. Hr department will see through your demands as your proposal is not a big deal for sure .. You ask them to speed up the process and you should give them a hit every day citing the extreme hot conditions to drink cool water and also that summer heat is effecting your work.. Take a protest in the office if they are not taking developments in the installation of cooling plant equipment .. I am sure they would but be at your toes and hurry up them everyday to install to the earliest.. So never mind for that if you see that your ignored then send a team of members and negotiate with higher authorities as its a requirement of basic need (food water and shelter) can never be ignored for welfare of employees..     Since you are working in a private firm.Since other aspects and everything at your workplace is good except for the improper cooling facilities during the summer months.
    So, you need to take this matter to the higher authorities.For this you need to approach the higher authorities at your place but along with you go take all the other staff also because if you go with all the members then you can get good response and can get the solution for your problem.
    Working for a problem in a group will be better to work individually.
    Note that you must go according to the situation but do not take any individual decisions.
