How to tell my boss about my inability to go for foreign tour?

I am an employee in a private software company. I have been chosen by my company for a foreign tour inorder to meet the important clients of the company and finalize a deal. But due to certain family problems,I will not be able to go for the tour. How should I communicate this inability of going for the tour to my boss?

    Hi

If you are having some personal problems and you are not able to make it to the foreign tour then you should discuss this matter with your project lead and manager and you should let them know about your problem.

This will help you as well your company .

    Thank you

    Dear Aspirant,

Your thinking is good, because you shopuld see your family problem. It is important in the sense that some one can do your official duty but it is not always possible to depute some one to look after your family problem.

It would be rather easy to convince your boss for not going to abroad,if you have a medical certificate pertaining to your family problem. So try to get medical certificate & say to your boss the fact that due to having such problem " I am unable to go to foreign. So kindly depute some one & allow me to do duty as usual".

    Thanks & good luck.

    Ashok..

Dear as for as my views are concerned that when you have any type of family problem then you must go to your boss and talk to them clearly about your problem and ask them for the cancellation of your tour or visit because when you are having some personal problems then you may not work well outside and you can not complete your deal and project which is going to be done outside of the country so i would like to suggest you that you should go to your boss and tell them your problem and also tell them that you can not visit in foreign and say sorry to them but also promise them that if the company will wish to send me for another deal or work again in future then you would be ready for that visit and if you will say that then your boss may understand your problem but do not tell a lie to them and do not make any type of fake excuse in front of your boss otherwise when you will be caught with your lie then you may loose your image and your reputation in the office and in the company so be accurate

    All the best

It is good to know that you had been selected for foreign tour by your company.Congratulations for this. You should be happy to prove your worth and to see that your hard work is paying you off.You should not let go this opportunity from your hand unless it is extremely urgent. This is because:-

-You will get to learn many new things on the tour.
-You can experience various new challenges.
-This will be a milestone in your career and for your better future.

However,if the family problems cannot be avoided and it is necessary to cancel the tour, then you should express your inability in a proper way to the higher authority above you. This will ensure good maintainence of the relation and also provide you such type of opportunities in future.

-Take an appointment and sit for a meeting.
-Express your inability in a polite and humble manner.
-Be sorry for not being able to respond to the decision of the higher authority positively.
-Explain the urgency of the situation in your family which compelled you to cancel the tour.
-Thank the higher authority for thinking you to be responsible enough and thereby selecting you for the tour.
-Request the higher authority to bear with you for this situation.
-Assure the higher authority that you will respond positively in future.
-Assure of good performance in your job and ask what are the tasks that you should do now.

    Hi aspirant

I think this is a very good opportunity for you which you should not miss but ofcourse I can understand your problem and thus your inability to go to the foreign tour. Of course Family comes first and I am happy that you are one of those people who give priorty to your family over your profession. It is a trait which is very rarely found now-a-days. But of course you should communicate it immediately to your boss so that he apponits another person in your place withing time and that person also gets the time for preparation.

You should go to your boss's office and tell him taht you would have loved to go to the foreign tour and are very thankful to him for giving you such a big chance to show your abilities but you are really sorry to say that you would not be able to go due to some family problems. So you request him to appoint someone else in your place and thus relieve you of this responsibility. You hope he will understand your situation.

I am sure your boss will understand your problem and will relieve you without any hesitation. Good luck friend. I hope your family problem is solved soon

I believe honesty is the best policy so be truthful and honest and explain your problem directly to your boss with courtesy but also show your interest to go on foreign tour and tell him that you are very sorry for yourself because you are not able to go there due to your family problem.
so go to him and say Sir, I would love to go on foreign tour but sir i m feeling regret because i can't be there due to my family problem(explain him whatever the problem is).so i am sorry sir but for mean time i just can't manage this.

    Hello there !!

since you are having the family problem the main reason for not going to abroad.
ans you know it well that, family problem should not be brought on the professional life,
otherwise it will ruin your both family life as well as professional life.

so, if possible than manage your family problem as soon as possible and then go for your work.
if it is not possible than first of all tell the boss about your family problem.
and then ask him whether you should go or not.
here, let the boss to decide what should be done.
never make your decision and tell the boss that you are not going. ok ???
this will give your bad impression on your boss.

hope i am clear to you.
    thanks for posting in EALP.

    Hi,
This is not fair to drop in this peak time and you said they are very important client but i can understand you position also.Explain your problem correctly to your boss and suggest any other colleague who are efficient to this position have clear idea about this deal .If it is possible try to attend for that deal or give some guide lines and instructions who are going to attend this tour.Give your 100% best for helping the boss in this critical position.
